-Bokuto’s pov-
Bokuto could never figure out how some people always try to find the bad in everything, and everyone.
He tries to be positive, of course he had his moments, everyone gets sad every once in a while. But no matter what, he always tries. That was the most important part for Bokuto, was trying. You don't have to be happy and confident 24/7, but if you at least try, you're already half way there.
"Hey Bo, there's someone new transferring to my office, and I hear she has a son about your age, maybe you two can hangout once they settle in?" Bokuto's mother asked him, the two were eating breakfast together. And they had the radio playing softly in the background.
"Oh that would be cool, you and her could become friends too!" He was excited at the prospect of a new friend. Getting to know someone is very rewarding. You get to have a new person occupy your mind, and they have their own imaginary folder in your brain.
"I hope so, she is a very hard working person, and I'd like to have a friend at work." His mother let out a soft laugh, she and her children were all somewhat high energy. So her coworkers usually left her alone, or more accurately, avoided her.
"Do you know when they get here? And how close we are to them?" He took a break from scarfing his food down, to properly engage in the conversation.
"I do, they get here on Monday, and they're actually only two houses down from us." She took a drink of water and sat back in her seat.
"So in three days, nice! And they're basically right next to us, this is really nice. Ah, do you think he's going to go to Fukurōdani too?" He was practically vibrating from excitement.
"Most likely, but we can figure out the fine details when they get here, sound good?"
"Yup! Want me to take your plate to the sink?" They had both finished their food, and Bokuto offered to clean up for them both.
"Yes please, thank you Kōtarō."
"You're welcome mom." The big goofy smile that he was wearing was all thanks to his mother's news. Bokuto was somewhat popular at school, but having a close neighbor to befriend seemed exciting to him.
He just hoped that the other kid felt the same. He hoped that he could remain calm and not scare the kid off when they meet. He was constantly told to 'quiet down' and to 'calm down before you knock something over'. He was seen as high maintenance, simply because he got really excited, and occasionally gets too excited and forgets to stay still. His body sometimes moves on its own, and he'll do things when he's excited. Such as lightly slap someone's arm, or jump around. He didn't know why he sometimes couldn't control himself. It just happens.
"Want to watch a movie with me?" His mother stood up and stretched her arms out, signaling for a hug.
Bokuto gave his mom a big hug, then responded to her question. "I would love to watch a movie!"
"Ok how about... Akira?" Bokuto's mother loved anime movies. And anime in general.
"Sounds like a plan!"
They both settled into the couch, Bokuto rested his head on his mother's lap. He enjoyed being able to spend time with her like this. His mother almost instantly found the movie and pressed play.
