"Jamila!" Dad yells to me from downstairs.
"What?!" I answer back. There's no reply so I go downstairs to the kitchen to find out what dad was calling me for. "Dad? What were you saying?""Oh, there you are."
"Here I am," I reply cheekily, sitting up on a bar stool at the bench."What were you calling me for anyways?"
"Well, if you let me finish..." I roll my eyes and pretend like I was interested about what Dad is saying to me. "Do you remember when Nirvana and Paisley gave us those plane tickets to use whenever we wish?"
"Yes, yes I do," I said as I became more interested. Paisley has been my best friend ever since we were born. My parents and her parents were best friends since school, and have been ever since, which meant I was always going to be friends with her one way or another. So, of course anything he says about her, I'm going to be interested.
"Well, I've booked them for tomorrow afternoon, so you need to pack a weeks worth of clothes."
"How long are we staying for?" I ask hopeful.
"Well we are staying from tomorrow to the 29th of January."
"What about school?" I ask, not that I care that much.
"For school, well, we'll worry about that when we need to..." Dad says unsure. I stand on my tippy-toes, peck him on the cheek and run upstairs to pack.
I pull out my new suitcase I got for when I moved here. It's a black,hard case with capital cities printed on the top. I open the suitcase up, and start pulling jackets, jerseys, tights, jeans, long sleeve tops, short sleeve tops and togs out of my wardrobe and drawers. I sort anything I can fit into the empty side of my case. I leave all of my chargers, laptop, hair stuff and whatever else I will need while I'm in Texas, until the morning.
I then grab my old school bag out of the wardrobe and put the things in that I will need of easy access. I put in my glasses, a pair of headphones and my favourite book in the entire world, 'Girl Online' by Zoe Sugg.
Dad popped his head into the door and said, "Hey, it's about time you get some rest kiddo, we need to get up pretty early."
"Yeah,okay. Goodnight." I peck him on the cheek and walk into the bathroom.
I heat the water, strip off and walk into the shower. I wash myself with my 'Bath and Body Works' soap, clean my face and get back out of the shower. I dry myself off, get changed into my pj's and throw my short brown hair into a bun.
I walk back into my bedroom, place all of my bags onto the floor, get under the blankets and check my phone.
1 text from Paisley Waisley.
I open the text and it reads;
Mum just told me, can't wait 'til tomorrow <3
She is the most literate person I know! It almost angers me.
I text her back;
ikr! I've already packed. c u tomoz
I scroll through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Watch Connor's and Joe's new videos and manage to fall asleep at 11 o'clock. Tomorrow I get to see my best friend that I haven't seen since my birthday in April.

I wake up at half past 7, and walk down to the kitchen without getting changed.
Dad is just finishing cooking bacon and eggs when I sit at the counter.
"Oh, hey. I was just about to come up to wake you. Here, I thought you might appreciate some breakfast." Dad says, sliding a plate over to me.
"Thanks. So, what time's the flight?"
"At 1."
"So, why did I have to get up so early then?" I whine.
He laughs, "because I still need to pack. And I need your help, you know that..."
I roll my eyes, "black-mail... You are horrible."
"It's not exactly blackmail sunshine."
"Just shut up and eat your food."
