Nora's POV

When I got home I walked to my room and fell flat on my bed. I screamed into my pillow. Half because of anger and half because of emotion overload. I let myself fall in love. I told myself "Don't fall in love Nora, you'll regret it!" EHHHHHH!! And he saw me, making wind! Honestly what kind of guy is just like "Oh, that girl has cool powers? Let's kiss her! Not like I am going to totally screw up her brain or anything." I thought to myself. But I guess I am glad he kissed me, I think. What am I going to do now? What am I going to tell Lynn?

"Eh!!!" I groaned.

I heard our apartment door open and I immediately knew it was my brother. Once Lynn got a top his bunk bed he instantly looked at me and said,

"What happened?"

I reluctantly told him what happened. The next day at school was really awkward. I didn't know what to do; he didn't know what to do. Luckily we ended up talking at lunch in the hallway.

"So, what do we do now?" He asked

"I am not completely sure but isn't this the part where we become a couple?" I asked

"Uh, yeah I guess. I mean do you want to be a couple?"

"I...I would like that."

We were both blushing awkwardly, avoiding each other's gaze.

"Okay, but before we make it official...I um....have to know something,"

Oh no here it comes

"...what was that air stuff about?"

I decided to tell him the truth about me and Lynn, my parents, my other siblings, and our abilities. Lynn wasn't too happy that I told him, but he came around. After that we dated. Just like any other couple, holding hands, kissing, going on dates, all the stuff that couples do. He was the best boyfriend a girl could ask for. He was a gentleman, understanding. He was always afraid he'd mess up and lose me, but he never even came close to it. We dated for a couple months short of three years. Just long enough for us to always expect the other one to be there next to you. Then it all came crashing down around us.

Noah's POV

I decided to visit Nora after school like I usually do. I come almost every day so I didn't bother knocking, considering they were expecting me. When I opened the door, Lynn was sitting on the couch, his head between his knees and his hands over his head. Oh no. This can't be good. I thought. I wondered why Nora wasn't here. I sat beside Lynn and noticed he was crying. I had never seen him cry before. Seeing him crying made me worry even more than I already was. I started to feel a sick, ugly, feeling in my stomach. Something was very wrong.

"Lynn, why are you crying? Where's Nora?" I asked

He looked up at me and wiped his face with his sleeve.

"They took her, too see our father." He replied.

"Who took her!? Why'd they take her!? Where is she exactly?" I asked, beginning to panic.

"Max and Alice took her, The Children of Dark and Light. They took her to see father, to talk about you. None of the mortals are permitted to know about our powers. I guess they found out you did. Father will probably punish her. She'll probably be executed."

I looked at him horrified. This is my fault. Nora would've been safe if I just didn't follow her that day.

"Where is your father?" I asked, trying my best to stay calm but failing miserably.

As I said that, I felt an unbearably uncomfortable sensation. It felt like when you're in a deep sleep and someone wakes you up, only longer. I knew this feeling. A few weeks ago, Nora and I were on a hike through the mountains when we got attacked by a bear. Nora transported us to the safety of a few miles away. She said it is something all of her siblings can do. She explained that it's how they get around to all the countries, but it takes a lot of energy so they avoid it if possible . However her oldest siblings, The children of Light and Dark could do it no problem. I suddenly felt more balanced, though there was a blinding white light. I noticed the white was not in fact a light but I was just staring at a blank white wall. I turned around to discover I was standing in a large, completely white marble room; the only splash of colour was the clothes on the people in the room. There was a man. He had a scruffy face and a terrifying expression. I was petrified to see him yelling at Nora. He had a hold of her hair and was yanking her around like a paper doll. She was crying and let out a small squeal every time he yanked her in a new direction. Alice and Max who were standing behind me looked unmoved, they watched obediently. He was yelling all sorts of things at her like, "you are trash!" ""you know the rules!" "you should die for this!" "no, you should be tortured!" and all sorts of gruesome things. He then looked in my direction. A sinister smile crossed his face.

"Finally! The guest of honor has arrived!"

He let go of Nora and crossed the room towards me. He grabbed my leg, causing me to fall, and pulled me in front of Nora.

"Alice, Max, hold Nora." He said

Nora looked at the two with unimaginable horror. Max pushed her down on her knees and Alice grabbed her hands and put them behind her. I attempted to get up but the man slammed my head against the floor with his foot.

"Heh" he scoffed

He kicked me with amusement. I went soaring across the room and slammed against the wall and put a large dent in it. He clearly had superhuman strength. When I fell back down to the floor I could feel the warm blood, coming from my head.

"NOAH!!!" Nora screamed through her tears.

I attempted to stand up again but had no luck. I was pretty sure more than one of my ribs was broken. He walked up to me and lifted me up by my hair. He looked right at me with entertained eyes. I looked at Nora. I must've looked pretty pathetic because she cried even more at the sight of me. Instead of flinging me, this time he slammed me on the ground, which had a similar effect as the wall. The pain was unbearable; I heard cracks all over my body. Nora was screaming, trying hopelessly to escape her siblings. This is it. I am going to die here and now and Nora's going be forced to watch me. He kicked me around like a child would kick a ball. Plenty of my bones were broken now. I was no longer able to move my body. I didn't want to do anything other than get Nora out of here. Hearing her screams and tears was more than enough torture for me. He held out his hand and a large golden axe materialized. He came closer and closer to me, making sure to take his time. He raised his axe and brought it down. Everything went dark.
