10. Hagrid's Hut

EMMELINE POV:

Draco told me to wait for him in the common room at 7:30, so I'm sitting on the black leather couch waiting for him.

I hear footsteps so I look up and see Draco coming down the stairs from the boys dormitories.

Once he gets to me, he puts his hand on my shoulder and says, "Let's wait outside the great hall, yeah?"

I nod my head and grab his hand as we turn and carefully sneak to the great hall.

Draco pulls my arm rather harshly and my body slams into his. I can't help but blush from the close proximity.

He looks at me and smirks before holding his finger up to his lips, signaling for me to be quiet.

Just then, we hear footsteps running down the hall and then see the trio pass by. I hear Hermione whisper shout, "would you guys stop stomping?! You're going to get us caught!"

"Sorry" "sorry" the boys say

I hear the door open to outside, and I faintly hear Harry say, "c'mon, Hagrid's is this way" before it shuts again

I look at Draco and raise my eyebrows in anticipation

He just smirks. Of course

"Let's wait a minute to let them get far enough away from the door before we follow them", I whisper

Draco nods his head in agreement.

We wait about a minute and Draco signals for me to step out. We slowly open the door, checking to make sure they're far enough away, and sneak out carefully and quietly.

He grabs my hand and we start slowly walking towards Hagrid's hut. We see them go inside, so once we get close enough, we sit right underneath one of the windows, trying to listen in on their conversation.

"We know he's after it. We don't know why" we faintly hear

"I'm gonna see if I can peek through the window and see anything" Draco whispers

I grab him and pull him back down. "Not yet, let's wait a little longer"

"Fine" he huffs

"Oh look he knows his mummy", we hear from inside

We look at each other with a confused expression before struggling to hide our giggles

I shush Draco and he points back up to the window. I nod, giving him the go ahead to look through

He peeks, and I see his eyes widen before he ducks back down and whispers to me "Hagrid's just hatched a bloody dragon from its egg"

I whisper, "what?! Wait look back in!"

He stands back up and I hear from inside, "Who's that?" Draco suddenly ducks down with a terrified expression.
"Malfoy" Harry says

Draco grabs my wrist and yanks me off the ground, and we start sprinting back towards the castle.

"Draco what are we going to do? What if they say something to one of the professors about seeing us?" I ask

"They won't, because we're going to rat them out first", he says with a smug look on his face.

"Professor McGonagall, Emmeline and I just witnessed 3 students out of bed after hours. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were all talking to Hagrid in his hit just now." Draco says

"Very well then, thank you for letting me know. Follow me if you will", she responds

Draco looks at me with a mischievous smug grin, and grabs my hand to follow McGonagall.
