Chapter 18: Trajectory

My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. To the outside world, I'm an ordinary forensic scientist, but secretly, with the help of my friend, Daniella and our friends at S.T.A.R. Labs, Daniella and I fight crime and find other meta-humans like us. I hunted down the man who killed my mother, but in doing so, I opened up our world to new threats, and I am the only one fast enough to stop them. I am The Flash!!

Days later, Team BoltFlash was standing over cliffs. 

Cisco throws a rock over the edge of the cliffs, and it falls down to the water and he says,"Whoo-hoo-hoo. Uh, it didn't look this deep on the map."

"That's 'cause maps are flat, Cisco." Daniella said.

"This is, like, 1,000 feet deep." Barry said.

"Well, you two wanted to get faster. Maybe plummeting to your death is the motivation you need." Cisco says, as he walks away. 

Harry walks over to them and he says,"So to reach escape velocity, you both are gonna have to go..." He shows them a number. "that fast." 

Barry looks at the number and he says,"Well, that fast is impossible. I can promise you that."

"Ah, "Nothing in life is promised except death"." Harry said.

"Edgar Allan Poe?" Barry asked.

"Kanye West." Harry said. 

Cisco walks up to them and he says,"If it makes you feel any better, Evel Knievel cleared a line of cars that was twice this long, and he didn't even have superpowers, unless you count that sweet-ass ride."

"Do you hear yourself?" Daniella said.

"What? Look, you're gonna be fine. I'm 80% sure of it." Cisco said.

"Okay." Barry said.

"76." Cisco said.

"Like, a strong 72...I can't stop, Caitlin, help." Cisco said.

"If you both don't feel ready, you probably shouldn't do it." Caitlin said.

"Not helpful." Cisco said.

"Look, Zoom's still out there. And once I find a way back to Earth-2, I have to be faster than him. And, I mean, right now...I wasn't even fast enough to save Jay. I have to try." Barry said.

"All right. Let's do it. At the same time. Okay. It's good. Great. Yeah." Daniella said. 

Barry nods. 

Barry and Daniella then both take steps back and they get into a running position, as electricity courses through their eyes as they take off running, they jump really high. 

"They're gonna make it." Caitlin said.

Then as Barry and Daniella are both in mid air, they both look down and start falling.

"No! Barry!" Caitlin said.

"Dani!" Cisco said.

"Oh, damn." Harry said.

Caitlin ran to the edge as two drones fly up carrying Barry and Daniella in a net.

"Why'd you have to bring those drones along, Cisco? Oh, I don't know." You're welcome, everyone." Cisco says, as he holds the remote control up.

Barry and Daniella exhale and then they both shake their heads in disappointment.
