Chapter 14: New Threat?

Raya and Namaari rushed to the castle throne room where Hans was waiting with Kali, who was still putting up a fight with him, trying to get away the best she could

"Stop fighting me!"

Kali groaned darkly, soon kicking Hans on the leg hard enough for him to let her go and run over to her parents.

"Kali!"

Raya hugged her close, holding her tightly

"you're shaking..."

"I'm fine! I'm fine"

Kali told Raya quickly not wanting to admit she was scared. She looked back at Hans nervously watching Namaari go up to him

"We defeated you in Arendelle! Why have you returned!?" She demanded to know

"and why are you after Lani! She has nothing you want"

"all will be explained, but for now out of my way"

"not a chance, you're going nowhere near my family!"

Namaari glared darkly, raising her fist getting ready to give him the punch he deserved, exactly like Anna did the first time, but instead of sending him flying across the room as she wanted, Hans stopped her by grabbing her fist just as tight as he had grabbed Kali

"that's the best you got?!"

He asked, challenging her at the same time, Namaari narrowed her eyes as she barely managed to shove her back away from her, she backed away to Raya and Kali picking up Kalani's sword along the way than staying close to them, she and Raya both protecting Kalani

"Kali get to your room! Now!"

"No, I'm not leaving you here with that jerk! I'm not afraid of him! And he doesn't hurt you guys and gets away with it!! I'm staying!" Before either of her parents could protest, Namaari sighed as she gave in giving her daughter her sword

"Namaari!..."

"Raya, not right now we need to stay together on this"

Raya hesitated faintly not wanting Kali to get hurt but reluctantly nodded, she looked at Hans gripping her sword watching him come closer

"Namaari, Raya!"

The leaders looked back seeing Erica and the girls running up to them

"Hans! This... This has gone on long enough!"

Erica told him angrily with mixed emotions at the same time from the past few days

"Leave my friends alone!"

She demanded though her voice was shaky she stayed strong for the girls, pointing the sceptre holding its golden staff tightly, aiming for Hans

"I agree so go ahead, take your best shot! I dare you, princess! Not like you would be able to anyway...not without hurting your friends"

Hans walked around Erica and Kumandras leaders, cupping her chin as he said this, letting her pull away from him, her sceptre pointed at him closely

"I will use this! You're gonna regret messing with us on so many damn levels!!! Taking over my home was one thing but trying to take over my friend's home! That's a whole level of hell no!!"

Hans didn't react until he felt a point at his back and sighed frustrated that his plan wasn't going the way he wanted at all, Erica managed a small smile noticing Hans had given up at this point

"This isn't over!-"

"get out! Before I blast you back to the southern isles!"

The sceptre started glowing brightly as she said this, her emotions just ready to burst

"you heard her....leave"

Ryker's voice spoke from behind Hans, his sword poking Hans in the back more

"you don't wanna make him mad, trust me I learnt that the hard way as a kid, and you really
don't wanna make me mad!"

The sceptre started to glow brighter

"fine, you win...for now at least"

Hans pushed past her, rubbing his back from where Ryker's sword had been

"before Shuriki was defeated she figured out there was some kind of magic in this kingdom, but it didn't come from the dragons... Then that's why we brought Gothel here...-"

"she was easily beaten so was Shuriki meanwhile you chickened out in both fights against us!"

Hans glared at this, he started to pull something familiar out of his jacket pocket, Namaari and Raya stood next to Erica and Ryker with Kali by their side

"wait the sceptre of night?! But-"

"your friends thought they hid it the first time...I found it in Arendelle! But don't worry your friends are fine"

Erica didn't trust Hans as it was, her grip tightened on her sceptre having to force herself to not blast him to Talon

"leave!..."

She repeated herself shakily, forcing herself to not blast him, suddenly Hans started to laugh quietly gripping the sceptre of night quickly turning

"inferno!"

"Blaze!!"

Hans blast took Erica by surprise, it was stronger than hers, starting to be pushed back

"Blaze!!"

She blasted Hans again but his power was still stronger, he could see the young girl getting tired easily clearly not used to using the sceptres magic still

"B-blaze!!"

She said a final time, exhausted already feeling herself stumble

"ngh"

Erica gave in, she had no strength left so all she could do was watch Hans leave the palace with the sceptre of night in his hand

 "we...gotta go after him!"

She told Ryker and the others now weakened and out of breath

"no... you need sleep! And I don't want the excuse of I'm fine! Cause you're not fine! Let's get you back to the ship!" 

Ryker ordered her slowly becoming annoyed with her stubbornness. She went to speak but then rolled her eyes because she knew arguing was hopeless at this point.

"We better tell Isabel..."

Erica finally said looking down slightly, her voice was hesitant as she said this, not wanting to get Isabel involved when she told her she'd have a break from all the princess things 

"no, you came here to have a break and that's what you're gonna do!...we will put guards all around the castle! And near your ship! After what just happened we can't risk anything!" Namaari spoke up, eyes narrowed looking at them

"nobody is going anywhere until Hans is caught! That means no flying Kali!"

Namaari gave her daughter a look that said she meant it, this quickly made Kali fall silent, knowing to never mess with her mother when she's this angry especially after she and Isa attempted to go against Shuriki the first time, she silently nodded not exactly having any choice in this matter at this point, Namaari sighed then looked at Raya sadly as they both watched Kali follow Ryker to the ship

"Did I do the right thing?..."

"Namaari you did what you thought was right...and at this point, it's probably for the best too...we don't know why Hans wanted Lani so we can't take that risk either, but we don't know what he meant by magic around here in the castle...Kali doesn't have magic... Right?"

Raya asked now becoming nervous of the face their daughter could have magic nobody knew about

"Sisu..." Namaari called the water dragon over 

"Hey what's going on?..."

"Do you know if Kali has ever had magic?"

Sisu suddenly hesitated at this as if she knew something

"uh ha, I...I don't know anything"

"Sisu!"

"Alright, when Kali had just arrived, my family and I may have given her some of our magic, as a gift to her but we didn't know it would put her in danger like that. It was just a present for the little nugget as to saying happy being born day"

Sisu told the two rulers, guiltiness in her voice

"Sisu... it's alright, none of us knew that this would happen. It's not your fault"

"All we know now...is Kumandra has a new enemy...and quite possibly a new threat"

Namaari spoke up looking at the hunter's ship, over the balcony

"We need to be prepared for his next attack and warn Isabel in Erica's village, we need all the help we can get"
