"We weren't even on the Grand Line when we bought all of these clothes," I scrunch up my face as I look at my outfit in the mirror. "That feels like ages ago with all that has happened to us."
"It is a good thing we bought all these clothes when we had the chance, seeing as every island we've landed on since hasn't given us a chance to buy much of anything," Nami sighs, looking over which belt she wants to use.
"Are you sure that this suits me?" I frown, messing with the white tank-top that she tossed at me to put on. It has a cute panda face right in the center, so at least I like that aspect of it. I also have on black shorts, comfy sandals, and a new crossbody pouch to hold my shurikens. I was even able to put some of my hair up into a bun. "I've never worn something that shows this much skin. Not including when part of my clothes burnt away after escaping the wax."
"You're fine," Nami waves me off, finally deciding on a belt for her black shorts (that are definitely longer than my shorts). She only has a blue and white bikini top on as a shirt. "The temperature is higher up here, so you can't be wearing something that will make you sweat like crazy. Besides, you look super cute, and I won't be the only one to think that."
"Nami," I whine, feeling my cheeks heat up. "Okay, I won't change, but I am taking this jacket," I grab a simple blue jacket and tie it around my waist.
"I've noticed that changing clothes is the only time that you are in this room," Robin speaks up. She's changed into a yellow with black patterns sleeveless shirt, purple pants that reach her calves with a simple belt. A pair of purple shoes with a tiny heel are in her hand. "You don't sleep in the girls room."
"Akari can only fall asleep snuggled up to her boyfriend," Nami teases.
"There's a reason for that," I take a deep breath, looking at the bracelet on my right wrist. "A man in my life that was supposed to love and protect me broke that pact a handful of years ago. Luffy is the one that stepped in and protected me from that man. He made sure that I would not get hurt, though the damage was already done. If I'm not by Luffy when I fall asleep, I won't sleep. I can't. My memories rush back at me."
"I had no idea you had nightmares," Nami rushes over to envelope me in a hug.
"I don't, not really. Not when Luffy wraps his arms around me, reminding me that there are people in my life that truly love me and would never hurt me."
"You really are an angel," Nami chuckles, holding me out by my shoulders. "Now let's go show that boy how cute you are!"
"Wait!" I squeal, but it is too late as Nami has grabbed my hand and is dragging me out of the room.
Robin chuckles as she follows behind us.
"Everyone, look at how cute Akari is!" Nami exclaims.
Zoro grins as he walks by, "I wondered what was taking you so long."
"Shut up," I stick my tongue out at him.
"Akari is always cute!" Luffy chuckles, rushing over to us from wherever he was, and with his vest now completely unbuttoned. His eyes roaming all over my body as he widely smiles.
"Don't keep your thoughts to yourself!" Nami snaps.
"You're really pretty, Akari," he grabs my hand, pulling me closer to press a kiss to my lips. "That felt right, to kiss you just now. Was it okay?"
