*Rose's P.O.V*

Today is the annual party in our company; apparently this was the day where this company signed with another major company and they decided to celebrate this day each year, which to me seems quite ridiculous. However, everybody has to attend, even a person with a small position like me. I enhale a deep breath before I cut another on my ribcage. Cleaning up, I went to my closet to see what to wear. My budget doesn't allow me to buy much since mainly it is spent on food and water. I took my scars into consideration since no one knows about it and no one should. How pathetic would that be. I had to wear a long sleeve shirt and luckly I had one that was appropriate for a gathering like this. Since it reached my waist I had to wear a high-waisted skirt to cover up some faint scars, as I said a walking art, and thank God I had none on my legs because it was open from one side, nor do I intend anytime soon. I wore my heals and put my hair in a braided-bun. I put on some makeup to look a little more 'alive'. I put on some accessories and headed out. Making my way out of the building, Adam and Richard, my neighbors, saluted me. Richard's gay, or at least what I think he is. He doesn't admit it because of environment we're in.
"You look amazing," Richard comment and Adam agreed," what's the occasion?"
"Annual party at the company."
"I didn't know you were interested in these kinds of things," Adam said.
"Am not, but kind of obligated to go," I shrugged.
"Want us to drop you? I don't think you're safe looking like this," Adam looked at me up and down.
"It's fine boys I can handle it, see ya," I kissed each on the cheek and head off.
I should've covered myself more cause the weather is freezing. Our company's building was covered with golden lights and a red carpet was leading to the main entrance. Overrated to be honest. As I made my way in, I greeted the guard who didn't even recognise me. He was surely surprised by the way I looked, little did he know that I used to dress myself up in occasions or none. I used to love to be the centre of attention but now I just feel violated in a way, especially when my perverted boss has been making moves on me all night. However, even though I feel like I kind of put an effort of looking "good" everyone else looked gorgeous with their long, loose hair and short, tight dresses. The men looked great in suits, which is my greatest weakness. I believe I got a glimpse of our CEO's back since he is quite tall among the women around him. I wonder how attractive he is for all these ladies surrounding him.
"I've been looking for you," a voice said from behind. I closed my eyes knowing it was my boss. Without looking back I walked away to the back door. I needed air or else I'll suffocate.

Fixing my tie, I smile at my reflection. I fix myself before heading out. This annual party gets boring to hold over the years; so what if I signed this stupid company? I could've signed more and better of it. However, I do know how to have fun when I want to and today might be just it.
"Hello sir and welcome," the guard greeted. I nodded as a response and headed inside. The cold keeps on getting strong by the minute. You'd think that after the years of being the centre of attention you'd get used to it but that is not my case. It brings trouble and gossip. Which are two things I hate. As I took a glass of champagne, I took a stroll around the big lounge. The women here are sure fine, not leaving a single detail of their bodies hidden. I stood by the fireplace and made my eyes wonder around until they spotted one gorgeous angel. The long skirt made her look tall and it looked like she wasn't even half interested with the people around her. Even though her shirt clung to her frame there were still some uncovered things. She was simply elegant. I tried to take a closer look, to see if she works her or she's someone's plus one, however, a couple of my friends took me into a conversation, that just includes me to nod to whatever, and had to give her my back. While talking I tried to take a glimpse until she moved to the back door. I excused myself and followed her. Once I opened the door, she was sitting on the ground with her legs dangling out and arms giving her upper body something to lean on. I cleared my throat to clear my presence. She turned her head quickly, quite frightened.
"Sorry," I said quickly," didn't know you were deep in thought."
She smiled," no problem," and turned to her old position.
I crouched down," may I sit here?" which was only 10 cm away. She nodded and kept to herself.
"You got suffocated as well?" She said braking the silence.
"Excuse me?"
"The reason why you're out as well," she spelled each word slowly.
I smiled," yeah sure."
"So," I asked," what is your name?"
She turned to me," am I quite interesting for you to have my name?"
"Maybe," I replied honestly which took her by surprise," as you can see I am not like any other man, I am quite honest."
"Duly noted," she replied fast.
"So your name is?"
"Rosaline," she said dully," you?"
"Am I that interesting for you to know my name?" I smiled.
"Maybe," she giggled, hiding it behind her hand.
"Finn."
"Pleasure," she said.
She didn't even get worked up about who I am, maybe she doesn't work here after all.
"So in which department do you work in, Finn?" She asked which left me dumbfounded.
Does she really not know who I am?
"I don't."
She tilted her head to the side pushing me to elaborate.
"I mean I don't work in any department I own them," I continued calmly.
It took her about seconds to finally get it.
"Finn Hall," her eyes widened," you're Finn Hall? The CEO?"
I nodded, which caused her to stand up quickly and clean her dress.
"Sorry sir," she said apologetically," I didn't know."
"Clearly," I laughed," and please call me Finn."
"That will be hard since you're the CEO not only to this company but also to others."
I smiled then asked," you work here, right?"
She nodded," I work at the accounting department on the 7th floor."
"Wait, didn't I come by that floor yesterday?"
She nodded.
"How come I didn't see you?"
"Because I didn't greet you. I was," she took a deep breath," busy."
Something felt odd. The way she smiled felt broken and her eyes are kind of watery.
"But I feel like I have seen you before."
"Well I haven't so if you would excuse me sir," she excused herself," I think now is my time to go, so have a nice evening," and with that she went inside.
I went back in but to find her leaving. I don't know what it is but I am feeling something that I can't describe.
