*Rose's P.O.V*
You know that is it time for Christmas when the streets are filled with lights and merchants sell trees. When shops go on sale and families are buying gifts. My definition of Christmas would be renting movies and buying junk food. Christmas used to be such a sacred event for me where my dad buys me whatever I want and my mom would bake all those cookies and invite the whole family. However, these are the only memories that I get to keep to myself. The happy memories.
It is already 7:00 A.M. and my ambition to feel pretty and have fun for once in my life seems to diminish by the minute. I took a quick shower and got ready for work. In the café. Today is Saturday and the café is always packed on weekends. Funny how I never get to enjoy a weekend ever since I left my family. I put some food and water for my cat and locked the door behind me.
"You seem in a hurry," Adam said as he was leaving his apartment.
I smiled," yeah big day at work," I faked my excitement.
"I didn't know that the company is open on Saturdays,"
"Uh yeah no it's not," I stutter," I just have extra ledgers to go through,"
"I don't know what the hell you said but have fun," He said smiling.
"I'll try," I giggled.
"Hey Rosaline,"
I turned," its Rose to you Adam," I smiled," what's up?"
"Bunch of the guys and I are going out later on, would you like to come with?"
"I would love to but I will be working,"
"Don't worry we're going at 10,"
"Where?"
"There is this new club that opens tonight so it should be quite fun,"
"Ah I don't know," I scratch my head," that is not kind of my scene plus it would be awkward if I tag along with you and some other dudes I don't know,"
"And girls," he rushed," there will be girls too,"
"More awkward," I smiled.
"Please? You'll have fun," he knotted his eyebrows," I'll make sure you have fun,"
After long silence I gave in,"sure but you better be confident I am pretty much a straight person,"
"Yeah yeah," he kissed my cheek," see you,"
I headed off to the diner in my yoga pants, green fluffy sweater, and sneakers. I put my hair in a bun and a beanie above it due to the cold weather. It takes about have an hour to reach there by foot and I honestly consider this my daily workout since I hardly exercise. Once I reached I entered from the backdoor and headed in. Since I came early I made breakfast for me and colleagues with coffee. By 2 the small room started picking up more customers and orders came flying by whether it's a hot beverage or a main course, it felt good to keep my mind off of things and it was the best distraction. I finished at 5 P.M. and said my goodbyes. Once I was out of there by five minutes I realized that I had forgotten my beanie and I felt extremely cold. I entered the hypermarket to get something warm. I took a basket and started to roam around, checking if I need anything to take back home. I picked up some cat food, beer, sodas, and ice cream. The last thing that was missing was some bags of chips. I went to the aisle and started picking them.
"Rosaline?" A voice called out. I turned around to find Finn. I dropped the bag by mistake. I looked down and up to him.
"Finn?" I rushed," Mr. Hall," I corrected myself. I bent down to pick up the bag and looked up at him to see him staring then he looked away. Flushed. I quirked an eyebrow then looked down. Embarrassed I rushed back up and fixed my top. Little did I know my breasts had been on display since the sweater is a low v-shape.
"So um how are you?" He asked looking down.
"I am doing okay," I looked at him. I let my eyes roam around him; he definitely looks different than what he looked like last time I saw him. Baggy grey sweats hanging down his hips, blue shirt that shows off his muscles, and beige hair pulled up in a bun showing the lower part of the head buzzed.
I asked" you?"
"I am doing fine as well," he now looked at me with his grey eyes piercing through mine. I directly looked down, blushing. He is so attractive I think even just greeting him is way out of my league. Well, he is my boss's boss either way he is out of my league.
"So," he spoke breaking the silence," are you excited for Christmas?"
"Uh I guess so," I shrugged," you?"
"I am," he said glowing," I love Christmas."
I smiled. That makes both of us.
"Any special plans? I mean on Christmas."
I shook my head," I'll be going out with a bunch of friends to this new club."
"Really?"
I nodded," what about you, Sir?"
He huffed, smiling while shaking his head," no sir please and I am not doing anything. I may see my family but doubt it since they might be out of the country."
"Ah," was all what I could say," so you will spend tonight alone or..?" I left my question in the air.
"Ah maybe going out with friends who knows," he scratched the back of his head," I just came back from the gym so I didn't think of this night way ahead."
"Yeah it's obvious," I shifted. The sweat on his forehead dropping down and sweat stains on his shirt. Which is oddly really turning on.
"What about you?"
I broke out of my daze and shook my head," excuse me?"
He smiled," you're dazing off a lot aren't you?"
I smiled back," sorry."
He shook his head the smile still evident," I asked what about you? Where were you before?"
"Why do you want to know?" I asked while walking towards him," I'm sure that it doesn't concern you since we're not in the company." I smiled," I hope you spend your evening well Mr. Hall but I have to get going or else I'll be late."
"Merry Christmas, Ms. White," he smiled
"To you too, Sir," I turned to walk away.
I wanted to invite him, I really did. However, something got my tongue twisted like I shouldn't even go there. Problems and trouble signs are radiating from him and I definitely should stay away. I am really drawn to him but I just can't let myself be in a relationship or anything for that matter. It is way too soon.
