Chapter 23

Continue on from the previous chapter

The second Lila left Marinette bolted to the girl's bathroom, sure she had been taught not to let the simple things get to her but Lila was a witch and no one deserves to have that much power from a few lies. Marinette had just reached the locker room when someone called out to her she turned around and quickly shoved her hands behind her back.

She looked and saw Nathaniel standing there, she had no idea what he was going to ask or say but she hoped he had not seen what had happened and thought that she was bullying Lila. "I saw what Lila did" Marinette wanted to say something like it was not her fault but Nathianal beat her to it.

"I know she's lying, let me help you, that must have hurt. '' He said, Marinette gapped. How did he know that of all the people he was one of the quietest people in class, he always minded his own business and would work on his drawings? How of all the people in class did Nathianl Kurtsberg know Lila was lying.

"Let me explain," he said, leading her to the benches in the locker bay, before quickly heading off into the bathroom and returned with some tissues and grabbed a new bottle of water from his locker before going and sitting down next to Marinette.

He grabbed her hands and looked at them, he then got a couple of tissues and wet them with a couple of drops of water before starting to dab them onto her hand. "This might hurt," he said after about two dabs. "How?" Marinette questioned the artist.

"A couple of weeks before you came back Lila was here for about two days during one of the morning classes she noticed everyone but me listening to her lies I was working on a drawing, she came and sat next to me and complimented my drawing," he said taking a dry tissue and drying her hand before looking at her. "What happened?" she asked.

"I don't have any band-aids but you should put one or two on when you get home," he said before getting up and putting the tissues in the bin then he came and took a seat next to her.

"She asked me about my idol and when I told her who it was, she said that she had worked with him on her last trip, but that's not possible because he has been dead for almost three years now, so there was no way she could have worked with him unless she was lying."

She looked surprised and nodded for him to continue and he did "that's when I started to notice something was off and looked up a bunch of things that she had said and realised it was all a lie, I didn't say anything because I remembered what had happened to you. Plus she hadn't realised I knew so I kept quiet about it.'' he explained.

"Makes sense," Marinette said. "After all everyone would believe her over you like she did with me and with no one to back you up they wouldn't believe you and just think you are jealous of her life or something." Marinette explained her theory and he nodded "exactly why I didn't say anything.

Just a few minutes later the locker room doors opened and two blonds came rushing in "there you are Dupain -Cheng we thought Rossi did something" "yeah we were worried when you didn't show up Alya had to go babysit her siblings so she told us to tell you when you come but you didn't we thought something bad happened to you." Adrien said then he looked at her and saw her hands and was about to ask when she interrupted him. "Nathaniel knows," she said.

I am so sorry that I haven't updated in a while I had writer's block and I was given the idea with Nathanial and so here we are.
