Since Eddie didn't want a huge wedding they decided to reserve a small outdoor venue in some small town in New York. The small outdoor area was decorated with white chairs neatly in place, a long white carpet where the aisle was with little white flowers sprinkled on it, and a white arch in the front with vines dangling down where the groom, bride, and preacher would stand during the ceremony. Richie had always imagined being at Eddie's wedding only it wasn't just Eddie's, it was his and Eddie's wedding. But of course that had only been imagination and it wouldn't come true because now he stood in the place where the love of his life was about to get married to another person.
Richie sat in the 3rd row on the left side, with Stan and Bill sitting at his his left, and Bev, Ben, and Mike sitting on his right. The losers initially wanted to sit in the front row but when Eddie told Myra that, she had informed him that the first 2 rows on each side were reserved for her family and friends which obviously pissed Eddie off a lot, that apparently her friends were more important than his, which was absolute bullshit.
Eddie stood in the front under the arch patiently waiting for the bride, giving Richie time to fully take in Eddie's appearance. God he looked fucking amazing, he always did. His hair was neatly combed as usual, he had a gorgeous black suit on that perfectly complimented his body, and just everything was perfect as usual. Richie was staring at his best friend in awe, but the sound of loud wedding music cutting off his train of thought and he gazed over beside him, seeing the bottom of a white dress pass by Bev, Mike, and Ben's shoes.
Richie looked up and saw the infamous Myra in person for the first time, it was like looking at an over-bearing Sonia as a teen all over again, only now the brown hair was blonde, and the dark brown eyes were a light ocean blue. She had what looked like pounds of makeup on, her hair was in a neat tight half-pony with little curls on the ends bouncing as she walked towards her fiancee, and a long silky white dress that slid against the aisle as she walked.
She finally made it to the front, facing Eddie who looked like he was about to shit his pants, making the music come to a stop. It was silent, only hearing a few low clearing of throats, and a few quiet sniffles. Eddie put on a nervous forced toothy grin while moving his dark eyes side to side every couple seconds. Basically everyone else there must've taken it as nervousness, but the losers knew Eddie more than any of these strangers ever would, they could sense something was wrong, but not wanting to intrude in Eddie's life, they sat still in their seats, keeping their eye contact directly on the bride and groom.
As the preacher began talking about some random things Richie didn't seem to hear, he stared off as he felt the tears well in his eyes all over again, and this time he didn't even try to hide them or stop them. He cried silently, not wanting to make some kind of scene. To anyone else, it would've looked like tears of joy, being happy for his friend, but really they were tears of heartbreak, Richie could feel his heart aching inside of his chest, feeling like he could almost die at this moment. Suddenly, Richie heard some words that snapped him out of his trance and something that broke his heart even more than before.
"Eddie Kaspbrak, do you take Myra to be your wife, to stick by each other through sickness and health?" the preacher asked looking like he's probably said these exact words about one hundred times.
"I-i do." Eddie said quietly, glancing at Richie quickly with tears welling in his eyes.
"Myra, do you take Eddie Kaspbrak to be your husband, to stick by each other through sickness and health?" the preacher asked again.
"I do!" Myra answered confidently.
"If there are any objections, speak now or forever hold your peace." the preacher spoke, suddenly facing the crowd of people.
It was silent, dead silent. No one dared to move a single inch of their body.
"Alri-"
"I object!" Richie suddenly spoke while standing up from his seat, cutting the preacher off. Richie himself couldn't believe what he had just done, but he couldn't hide the truth any longer, at least not before Eddie is officially married.
Richie could feel several sets of eyes on him, he always wanted his confession to be a sweet private moment between him and Eddie but he didn't care, he had to tell Eddie whether he was in front of all these people or not.
"I-i know this is awful timing, but I can't just sit here a-and act like everything's fine and just let you marry Mrs. K 2.0. Eds I-i'm in love with you and I have been since we were 13 and I know I'm being a terrible person right now and ruining your wedding but I have to say this before it's final. I completely understand if y-you don't feel the same way, you probably don't considering you're literally getting married to a literal woman right now, but I just-just Eds I love you so much." Richie said with tears now running down his cheeks and feeling them soak into his chiseled facial hair.
Many gasps could be heard, shocked but also pissed off faces staring at the crying Richie. The losers not being too shocked at the confession but only shocked that he had finally confessed after all these years. Stan looked proudly at his friend with a wide grin, feelings tears of his own well in his eyes. Eddie stood there with tears now running down his cheeks too with a smile on his face, but not the forced one he had been putting on his face this whole time, but a real genuine one, the one that could bright up Richie's day just by the sight of it.
Richie stood there feeling his vains pump with adrenaline, feeling proud for finally confessing after 27 years of finding out his true feelings and hiding this secret from Eddie, but also terrified at the possibility of rejection and losing his best friend for his whole life, since they were 3.
It was silent, Myra looking at her fiancee with confused eyes, they hadn't looked sweet like they did seconds before, now they looked as if they were full of fire and hatred at the man that Eddie would always talk about and call his best friend in the whole world.
Eddie ran over quickly away from Myra and to the third row, Bev, Ben, and Mike quickly moving their feet letting their friend pass by and get to a still crying Richie.
Eddie stood there in front of Richie with tears running down his cheeks too, looking at Richie with the widest grin anyone had ever seen him with, Eddie could feel his cheeks begin to ache from the wide grin overtaking his face. Eddie grabbed Richie's face gently with his hands and pulled him in for a kiss.
Their lips collided together, feeling like they fit together perfectly, as if they were always meant to touch. Richie began smiling into the kiss, feeling his before aching heart now exploding with passion, he could feel multiple butterflies expolding in his stomach. They pulled away a few moments later, looking into each others eyes deeply with wide grins on each of their faces.
"Rich, I love you too." Eddie said still with a huge smile.
The moment was quickly interuppted when Richie felt a sharp pain against the side of his cheek, a flash of pain cutting up through his left eye as it happened, causing him to stumble backwards on to his chair clumsily. Myra had punched him in the face after seeing the sight of her about-to-be husband kissing another man. She wasn't that strong so it wasn't that painful for Richie, it was only the shock and anger that worsened the pain.
