Lance was beaming. He was happy, so unbelievably happy.

With the letter from the Garrison in his hands he ran back into his home, a bright smile on his face and nearly vibrating when he told his family the amazing news. He was going to the Galaxy Garrison, the best space school in the whole world.

They had actually accepted him. Him. He couldn't wait. He was just soo happy.

He was fifteen.

Wiping his sweaty hands on his pants, Lance smiled satisfied. The last box of his belongings he wanted to take with him to the Garrison was finally stowed in the car and he was ready to go.

To go on to new adventures in the Galaxy Garrison and become the best pilot there was.

There was a lot of crying when he said goodbye to his family. He did not want to leave them, but going the Galaxy Garrison had been his dream since he was just a boy. He couldn't not go.

"I promise I will call at least once a week." He promised his mamá und papa, his brothers and sisters, his abuela, his tia and tio and cousins. "And I will come home every holiday and tell you about all the amazing things, I promise."

And so, a little nervous, a little sad, but also very excited, he jumped into the car with his father and drove to the airport. Lance waved his family — a grin on his face, soo big, and tears of sadness and happiness rolling down his face.

This was it.

This was going to be a new beginning.

It would be absolutely amazing, Lance just knew it.

He was sixteen.

The Garrison was amazing. It was huge, and crazy, and liberating, and simply amazing.

If only Keith mullet Kogane wasn't there. Stupid emo. Alway doing him one up and showing off. Annoying git.

It was only sooo unfortunate that he was thrown out a few months ago. Tragic, really.

Lucky for him, however, that meant that he was now a fighter pilot — and wasn't that awesome?

The only real problem these days were his crew members and Commander Iverson; stupid Iverson whose only method of communication seemed to be yelling.

Pidge and Hunk were alright. Though, Pidge could use a little lightening up and be a bit more optimistic. Honestly, his flying-skills were top-notch, it's not his fault the ship was so wonky.

Hunk was also a really nice guy. Kind of like a big, cuddly teddybear. A little queasy, a little jumpy, but all in all a great guy.

That's why he chose to drag the both of them out for a little 'team-bonding' — like Commander Iverson called it. If only Hunk wasn't so hesitant and doubtful — couldn't he see what an incredible good idea it was to go out together?

They found Pidge on the roof, surrounded by crazy technology-thingys.

He kind of appeared to be more crazy than normal with his talk about aliens and their crazy weapon called Voltron. Honestly, as if Lance would actually believe in Ali—

Okay so... an alien spaceship just landed near the Garrison — fucking crazy.

Lance's absolute hero — Takashi 'Shiro' Shirogane — was onboard of it, talking about aliens, weapons and WHAT DOES THIS STUPID MULLET-FUCKING EMO THINK HE IS DOING?
