Chapter 4: (William Louis Brown)

Running barefoot along the forest floor allowed me and my wolf to connect with the forest and our land. Each time i took a step forward I heard every crunch of a dried up leaf , felt every pebble against my sole and moist earth to dig deep beneath my feet. It was a sensation like no other.

On my usual rounds with seven other men from the pack we thoroughly inspect territory borders. My packs territory is vast and well developed so keeping rogues out and aware that they aren’t welcome are one of the first few priorities I give to my pack guards.

Even though I didn’t have to take part on scouting along borderlines I like going on rounds simply because I like making sure I take part on keeping my pack together and well organized. An alternative reason? Well maybe because I have a particular secret that I keep only to myself-

’ll take my usual path, split up so we can cover more land- I’m in a hurry today so do it quickly’ I said through mind link to my pack members.

Will, who would want to come with you to the meeting?’ Harry asks me

You and Sam will suffice’ quickly answering then shutting myself off from everyone else I make my way to a particular location near the border.

Running quickly along forest I dunked, dodged and jumped through obstacles. It was pretty good exercise if you were to ask me. Feeling the cold wind against my bare chest I felt free as I dash through familiar sites.

Getting to a familiar moss covered rock I place the fragrant blue iris that I hid in my pocket on top of it.

I inhale deeply several times trying to seek out for the familiar scent of minty chocolate and cedar. To cut it short it was a particular scent that took control of my whole being. After a few more sniff’s I realized the rogue hasn’t passed through.

Being in a hurry I couldn’t wait for the she wolf that gave off the scent, it usually passes by the borderlines. Even knowing she was a violent rogue I couldn’t help myself but watch her pass by from time to time.

Glancing once more at the blue iris I had placed on the rock, I smile at the thought of her.

My perimeter is clear. I’m heading back now; meet up in the pack house’ I said through mind link as I shifted immediately.

I huffed as soon as I took off. Running half naked was quite enjoyable but running in my wolf was simply exhilarating.

Getting to the front of the pack house I head to the deck of clothes piled near the entrance. I shift to my human form, stretching my arms upward reaching for the skies. Feeling my once tense muscles quickly relax. In a hurry I grab and wore a white button down shirt and jean pants as fast as I could. Running my fingers through my hair I exhale deeply.

‘Harry- Sam. I’m up front. Let’s go.’ I informed them both with urgency. I lean against my red Ferrari 1998 456M GT, waiting for my beta and one of the best pack guards that I have trained so far. After about five minutes had passed I started tapping my feet against the ground. Being an impatient person can be such a burden, when you’re associates are practically sloths.

Finally emerging from the pack house’s main entrance they grin at me sheepishly. Making their way over to me “Sorry bud- but I ran into Bay. She was-” Sam explained as he handed me the keys. Cutting him off, I got inside the car “hurry get in” he looked at me suddenly dumbfounded.
