Chapter 6:
Feeling strong arm’s wrap tightly around my waist caused me to press against a firm body behind me, panic was setting in deep. Trying to break free I started to trash about. The unwelcomed embrace sent cold shivers down my spine and anxiety to seethe within my heart. My wolf was furious about having someone other than her mate touch us.
“Shhhh Sereinna!” A strained but rather familiar voice whispered against my ear
My eyes widened as he said my name- who is this guy? How do I even know him? As I continued to squirm for release his hold just became tighter causing me to whimper in pain.
“Sereinna I’m not going to hurt you-” –yeah right- as he whispered I felt his nose touch my earlobe, signaling it was time.
Before he could finish I threw my head back causing the back of my head to his nose. As soon as he groaned his arm immediately loosened, with no hesitation I quickly sprinted towards the front door.
Opening the door to see a tall man with light brown hair approach the porch cautiously, his deep hazel colored eyes met mine they widened slightly it soon turned to a look of total disbelief. I quickly shut the door and sprinted back into the hallway to find an alternative exit. Seeing a rather familiar man that was slumped down the floor getting up was probably the guy I head-butted. Not wanting to find out further who the mystery man is I took a quick left turn.
Shutting the door behind me I quickly darted towards the window. Gripping tightly at the base of the window I lift up the panel. As wind entered through the window causing my hair to fly everywhere made me hasten my movements. They would probably be able to smell me-
Bending down lightly as I put one foot out the window, I snapped my head towards the door. Just a millisecond before I had fully turned my head a loud smashing sound came from the door. Both men looked at me with cocked eyebrows. I swung my body out the window quickly and kicked myself out with my other foot, causing me to fall. Shifting my weight so I would land on my back was difficult but I did not say it was impossible. As my back connected with the grassy surface, I quickly looked up to see both of them trying to get out through the window.
Turning slightly and pressing my free hand on the ground I had to get up quickly. Placing my foot steady on the ground as my knee that was set opposite to it steadied me, I sprinted forward. Running in long strides to put as much distance between me and the two men.
As a loud thud behind me signaled that probably one of the men had already gotten out and was now going to be running after me, sent my heart and adrenaline racing.
As I headed towards the forest, I gasp as light, casted brightness on the number of apparitions that were appearing inevitably from the bushes. I was quick to turn and run the opposite direction. I was never a quitter but I know when I have lost- I needed help.
‘William! I need you!’ I said in a panic filled voice towards only my mate
‘Where are you Sereinna? I’m trying to track you do-’
William was cut off from my mind when a huge wolf knocked me off my feet, causing me plummet towards the ground. The frightening grey wolf that was in front of me seems to be uncontrollably seething with anger. As I held the baby tighter in a protective manner, he suddenly snarled and snapped at me.
