Chapter 7

Five days later

Punches were thrown at his stomach, leaving Katsuki hurling on the sidewalk and his opponent bloody knuckles. He could hear the villains yelling to each other, debating whether they kill him or just escape. He couldn't hear the consensus they came to. Katsuki's knees buckled and he crashed onto the ground. He could see blood in his vomit, and he knew that was never good. Especially in his condition.

He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and stood up on wobbly legs. He faced them, ready to fight again, but couldn't before one of them slammed him up against the wall. He coughed out a yelp.

"It wasn't hard to notice your weak areas, GroundZero," one of them hissed. They had surrounded the man that had Katsuki up against the wall. "You're overly protective of your stomach. It's obvious that you don't want us hitting there."

The man in front of Katsuki slammed his knee into his stomach. Katsuki screamed out in pain and threw his head back, slamming it against the brick wall. His consciousness left him and his world faded to darkness.

The next thing he knew, he was looking into Eijirou's comforting, but terrified, eyes. His image of him was blurry and there were black splotches in his vision, though. Eijirou's lips were moving, but Katsuki heard nothing but ringing. He squeezed his eyes shut, then snapped them open again when his ears started working.

"Katsuki! Answer me, please!" Eijirou said frantically.

"Hnn..." Katsuki groaned, "Red... headache... Fuckers got away, didn't they..?"

"Nah, I got 'em. I was close, got your distress signal. I got here right as you hit your head on the wall and passed out," Eijirou answered.

"Slammed it more like it," Katsuki huffed, "Where are they?"

"Detained," he said, "Can't you hear the sirens?"

Katsuki lifted his hands and rubbed his temples, then cupped his hands over his ears. He sat like that for a second, then pulled his hands away. He focused, and then heard sirens.

"Oh. Fucked up my ears with that fucking wall," he sighed.

"Not like your hearing was all that good to begin with," Eijirou chuckled, "You know, with all the explosions."

"No shit," Katsuki huffed, "This shit's only making me go deaf faster."

"Don't say that. You're not going deaf," Eijirou said sternly.

"Doctor said-" Katsuki tried.

"Years. Decades till that happens, Katsuki," Eijirou shushed him.

"I'll have to go back after this. Especially if I got a concussion."

"Okay," Eijirou sighed. He leaned down to give Katsuki a small kiss, but stopped a few inches before his lips. He and Katsuki had just forgotten what was happening between them. They'd forgotten about Eijirou cheating. Those few minutes were glorious, despite the fight that brought them on.

"Yeah.." Katsuki mumbled, "Forgot... you're an asshole... Don't kiss me, Eijirou. Thanks for not letting me die."

Eijirou pulled back and carefully put his hand on Katsuki's cheek. "Does your head hurt a lot?"

"Mhm.. might be bleeding," Katsuki mentioned.

"There's an ambulance, think you should get checked out?"

"Yeah, probably," he said, remembering the hits he suffered to his stomach. It was protected, but it was worth checking. His worries were lessened slightly when he felt his son kicking away in his stomach.
