" Getting Axed By A Hot Killer Wasn't The Worst Part Of The Night. "

The six teenagers sprint down the hallways of the school, each one trying to open classroom doors by pushing it open or wiggling the door knob; almost all the classroom doors are locked. They make one final turn down another hallway before Deena calls them over, as she pushes open a classroom. Seeing the door open, without hesitation they immediately run into the classroom, finally getting a moment of o catch their breath. Simon quickly looks around the room to find something to lock the door, he finds the keys on the teachers desk and tosses them to River letting her lock the door while he shoves everything off the teachers desk, pushing it against the door to use as a barricade.

"Come on, they're coming!" Deena yells as she and Sam run towards Simon to help him move the desk.

"They're gonna keep coming!" Kate yells

"We're fucked!" Simon adds

"No, no! We are not fucked! She's fucked. They're coming for her. If we put Sam in the hall we end this now."

"You're a monster."

"I'm being reasonable! We can't run anymore. A bullet won't stop them, fine. They're really strong. But we just tried to goddamn explode them, and that didn't work!"

"You're suggesting killing her."

"I mean, that's not exactly what she's saying." Josh pitches into the conversation

"Oh, you're on her side?"

"You'd let us all die to protect her. Look at this."

Kate walks towards Josh and pulls his bag off his back, she digs through everything he brought and pulls out a handful of news articles about each Shadyside killer. She slams all the papers on a desk now grabbing everyone's attention.

"Okay, all of this. Dead, dead, dead! This is the way. It's the only way. Sams gotta go."

With tears in her eyes, Deena looks at her brother and best friend who want her girlfriend dead before looking away and towards River who's standing with her back facing the door, in the middle of Sam and Simon.

"River? Do you- do you agree with her?" Deena asks

"I'm sorry." River starts. She looks away from Deena and towards the ground for a moment as she inhaled softly, looking back at Deena while she exhaled. "They can't die, I mean, we have proof of that. I'm sorry Sam, but I don't want to get axed in the head or stabbed by my dead brother for you. I don't think any of us are willing to die tonight, let alone for you."

"Are you kidding me?" Deena's voice breaks

"They're right." Sam speaks up, making everyone in the room to look at her. "I don't want you guys to die for me. I'm going. I'm ending this."
