ILL FIND YOU AGAIN

" The Lie That'll Haunt Them Forever."

After the events that took place, River was sent to the hospital for multiple stitches which didn't surprise her. Her mother had to leave work early to come pick her up; profusely apologizing for the last conversation that they had together through the phone, saying sorry for how she didn't tell River about her brother, and how sorry she is for what had happened to her that night.

Nick Goode had to come by to take River's statement but her mother had told the sheriff that River needed some time alone and that she would make her statement later. A couple hours went by and River and her friends had communicated with each other saying they were ready to talk to the cops, each of them knowing what to say; so River told her mother to call Nick because she knew she needed to get over what her and her friends had agreed to.

"Interview with River Torres. Sunday, October 2nd, 1994." Nick said into the recorder "Wanna tell me what happened?" He questioned, leaning back in his chair

"My friends and I were picking up Sam's prescriptions when the lights randomly went out, and it just went dark." River lies "I remember that we hid behind something, I'm not sure what it was though cause i couldn't really see anything." She added

"How'd you get the cuts all over your body?" Sheriff Goode questions "I was told you got over 40 stitches, is that correct?"

"I heard something break, and whatever it was I slipped on it. I think it might've been glass, like I said I don't know it was too dark to see anything."

"I'll tell you what the facts tell me. The junkies-"

"Kate and Simon." River interrupts Goode, causing him to give her a small nod. "They aren't junkies, they're good kids. Kate was intelligent and top of all her classes, while Simon has been working and supporting his family since he was 15. You don't refer to children as junkies when they aren't; their names are Simon and Kate so either you call them by their names or you're not getting the rest of my statement you need from me."

"Sorry, uh, Kate and Simon... They're to blame for everything. I don't know, that feels a little too easy for me, but that's the story this department will go with unless you can help me to see it differently."

"There's nothing else to say, they were good kids and everyone knew that. That's the story." River says looking down at her hands, twisting the rings that she had taken off Simon.

"River, I know that you and Simon are boyfriend and girlfriend, and I know that you and Kate have known each other since birth, do you really want your friends going down for this?"

"No." River's voice breaks "But it's a little too late to start hearing us out don't you think, maybe... just maybe Kate and Simon wouldn't be dead if you had listened to Sam and Deena in the first time. But you didn't, so they're dead."

Nick lets out a small sigh, he reaches forward pushing down two of the buttons stopping the tape recorder.

"Look, if you tell me the truth, just me and you no recording, no one hearing us, just you talking and me listening giving you a chance; I will allow you to go into both of your friends houses and take some of their things to remember them by." he tries to persuade her

"I think I have enough things, thank you though." She says thinking back to her car that has a pile of Simon's things that Deena had promised to give her; her house already having many of Kate's things.

Nick Goode looks River up and down for a moment before pushing himself out of his seat. He walks towards the door holding it open allowing River to leave the room.

"That's a lovely cardigan you have on." he says nodding towards the purple crochet cardigan she chose to pair with blue flare jeans.

"I hope Kate and Simon's death stays in your conscious until the day you die, knowing you could've helped them but chose to ignore them. Oh, and I hope you rot in hell... I mean that respectfully of course."
