Alex's POV

"Okay, we must be SILENT." I said. This was going to be great.

"You have the paint?" Ian whispered. I held up the green packet of hair paint.

"Okay." We slowly creeped up to his bunk, silently pulling back the curtain. Ian squeezed out some of the green paint into his finger and began gently dabbing it into Tony's hair. He created an oval shell, legs, and a little head. A turtle. We pulled the curtain back to its original position.

"Okay. Ready?" I nodded. "One... Two... Three." He banged on the side of Tony's bunk, loud. We ran to the front of the bus and peered over the barrier between the stairs and the living area.

"Gah!" We heard Tony yelp in surprise, then saw the curtain pull back. He groggily swung his legs over the edge of his bed, no idea we were here. He walked into the bathroom, and closed the door. A few seconds passed, then we heard a surprised "WHAT THE FUCK?" Reverberate from the small room.

Then we ran.
Off the bus, into the lobby, crying from laughter.

After the Tony situation had settled and I had showered, I changed and went down to the lobby to meet the others. We were going to explore Phoenix today. Ian went with the set crew to go set up the venue.

I exited the elevator to find the band and Claire waiting for me.

Jaime's POV

I had to get her alone tonight. This was the last time I let Ian get in my way. We had just gotten back to the hotel after a long day of walking in the sweltering heat and eating a lot of Mexican food.

The best part was, no Ian. No Ian standing between me and her. No Ian taking my place. I actually talked to her today, and I think she's warming up to me again. I just wanted it to be like it used to be, I just wanted to be close again.

It was dark outside, and Ian wasn't back from his stage job yet. I walked next to Alex as we entered the lobby. Now was the time.

"Hey, Alex. Do you want to come to my room and... You know, hang out?" Vic laughed from behind us. "Yeah," he said, "Claire and I 'hang out' in each other's rooms all the time." She giggled, and they kissed. I rolled my eyes.

"Do you want to hang out and not get STD's?" I asked, elbowing Vic in the gut.

"Hey!" He protested. Alex smiled.

"Sounds great."

Yes? YES? YES!! I smiled back at her, and took her hand, intertwining our fingers. We went up to the top floor, and skipped all the way down the hallway to my room. It was beginning to feel like normal again.

We jumped on the bed, and screwed around for a while. But when our laughter started to die down, Alex sighed and sat down on the edge of my bed. I sat next to her, and she leaned her head on my shoulder.

"Why haven't we been hanging out these past days?" I wondered out loud. She looked at me.

"I don't know. I miss you Jaime-Time." I liked the way she looked straight into my eyes, I liked the little smile that curled her lips ever so slightly. She was so, so beautiful. And I was a hot mess.

"I miss you too, Al." Without thinking, I kissed her head. Shit! I didn't mean to. She was just so close.

Thank God, she didn't show any signs of being creeped out. She smiled a little, and her eyes lingered on my lips for a spit second. God, how I wanted to kiss her. She finally jerked her gaze to the ground and she stood.

"I- I better go." She looked at the floor, starting to shuffle to the door.

"Alex-" I wanted to grab her hand, to tell her to stay. I couldn't find the strength. "Goodnight." I said. She looked a little disappointed.

"Goodnight." She muttered, with a small smile. She turned, and then she was gone.
