Pre-Opening: Dinner I

"Huh?! What do you mean we are not invited?!"

The Second Family's head bellowed and slammed his fist on the table. Turned out, amongst all the Ten Family only the First Family is invited to the Pre-opening of Light and Dark Beach Resort- it was the name Alex came up with.

"All other families were trying to get ahold of the owner as well. This is a humiliation our family will not stomach! Is he trying to pull our leg? Or does he not consider us!"

The old man's son screamed. They are obviously piqued.

"That bastard! Does he really think he can do as he pleases?!" The Second Family head growled as though he was already shredding Alex's flesh by his own hand.

Even the First Family has to compromise and give them face. That bastard does not even care.

"Father, what should we do? What right does the First Family have to attend but we don't even get the invitation? How are we inferior to them?!" He grits his teeth in anger and frustration.

The old man looks at his son with a nasty frown. If this son of his is even half as capable as the First Family's son, he could die just as happily as the other family head. However, seeing this incompetent son of his, he couldn't help but feel pity.

On the other hand, the son was full of insecurities and anger towards the son of the First Family. How was he inferior to that bastard Jake? There's no way he isn't in par with thay bastard. In fact, he feels he is much more deserving.

Meanwhile, in the Light and Dark Beach Resort.

Alex's did extend her invitation towards the First Family head to a simple dinner celebration, but the pre-opening invitations are still in preparation. In fact, she invited the First Family, the Tenth Family and one other family.

"Find whoever creating the rumor." Alex whispers to John, her butler. This kind of trivial matter can lead to potential loses (e. g potential business associates).

She then proceed to the living area to await for her guest. She'll be expecting quite a few of them.

"I'd thought you'd at least change into something more formal, appropriate to your esteemed guests. " Nicole says as she checks her boss's white polo. Nicole never seen her wear anything aside from white polo,  plain black sleeveless shirt and black jeans and thick bottom black leather ankle boots.

"I'm not ever gonna wear a suit and tie." She replied with a lopsided grin.

"I meant a dress!" Nicole could not stop from stomping her feet in annoyance, not quite her.

Alex laughs cheerfully as she watches her assistant getting riled up as usual everytime she teases her.

"Well, am not gonna wear a dress." She plops down and takes the wine glass.

Alex admits she's never been one to care what other thinks of her personally. Her duty is to conduct business and earn money. As long as she was able to do so then it's all fine. Besides, it's not that she looks informal. She just looks rather dashing, youthful and inexperienced. Unfitting.

"Nicole, you really need to relax sometimes. You'll look older."

"I am, in fact, older than you."

"I meant, older... old-dy!"

(" _ "*) Nicole: You're old! Your whole family is old!

Nicole did not answer after that. She stands behind Alex's as what assistants do.

...

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen!" Alex do a little curtsy gesture with a grin.

After a quarter an hour or so long wait, her visitors have finally arrived.

"Please, let's proceed to our dining."

As she expected, her visitors did brought at least five people or so.

The First Family head is with his wife and son and two bodyguards and a maid - which seems to be the wife's personal assistant.
The Tenth Family brought her wife and son as well, and two bodyguards and a girl in a plain white sunday dress.While the other family's head only brought his wife and a maid.

"Forgive me for not being able to greet all of you outside. I was having a little quarrel with my cute assistant here. She doesn't want to let me go!" Alex jests then laughs cheerily.

"Miss Alex!" Nicole growls promptly with a cute frown.
