The police arrived and dispersed as the chaos died down.

"Sir, please let go of the body-," a woman in uniform began before she was rudely cut off by the man holding on to the victim's body.

"No." He didn't shout ; He didn't need to. For the promise of pain to whoever tried to separate him from his lover was evident in his whisper.

"I understand your predicament and we're sorry for your loss but I assure you, we will transfer it to the morgue so you can get the body after autopsy."

'Autopsy? What good was an autopsy? She was shot for sake.'

A few seconds of silence passed before he finally loosened his grip on her. Without putting much of a fight, the paramedic seized that opportunity to take the body off him.

His body went limp and numb, unfeeling of any emotion. A strong hand laid on his shoulder and lifted him up. He couldn't even bother shaking it off as he kept his blank eyes at the ground where her body previously laid.

"I'm sorry for your loss," the gruff voice said, pity lacing his voice.

He slightly titled his head, catching the tell-tale badge and blue uniform of a police officer. Kakashi Hatake, the tag read.

He scoffed bitterly, he didn't need pity.

"You're still a young lad," the officer continued, "you have a life ahead of you."

Listening to the word of the officer, he suddenly had the urge to laugh. Life? His life revolved solely around hers.

He would marry her then he would have kids and grandkids. He would spend his entire life with her.

Nothing was supposed to go wrong.

"She would've wanted you to move on."

The boy stiffened, at the police officer's words cut through him like a knife.

He was already burning himself in hell with the self-blame and the man had the guts to throw fuel to the fire. The blazing fury that he tried to put up.

He faced the officer and looked into his eyes.

"What do you know? You want to know what she would've wanted? Huh?"

The boy's eyes burned with such ferocity that startled the officer and he slowly backed away. He was very well aware that the boy was dealing with grief.

A bitter laugh escaped his lips as he spat, "She would've wanted to live."

A loud commotion took both their attention as two police officers cuffed and dragged a deranged laughing man to the police car, passing them by.

The boy froze as he caught sight of a gun's barrel in a box held by one of the police officers.

The killer.

Wrath bloomed from his chest as he stared at the back of the man who killed his lover.

Consumed by rage, he grabbed the gun from the holster of the police officers beside him, briefly hearing a shout of protest, and blindly shot without hesitation.

He was continuously pulling the trigger before he was tackled to the ground by a large body was wrestling the gun out of his hands. His grip on it loosened, satisfied with the downfall of the killer.

"You think that was worth it?! You're going to suffer the consequences of that," the officer angrily said before pulling him up and cuffing his wrists.

The previous adrenaline rush drained his energy. He was too exhausted to care and too numbed to feel.
