Alison would always lay down next to Mike even after those 7 months passed, and she could see that he was slowly finding himself again. She layed there hoping to get him to feel her presence and maybe he'd talk to her but that never happened. Julian always offered her the left side of his bed but there was no way she was going to lay next to a pantless politician.
Every morning she'd get up and walk to the common room where they'd all plan the day ahead of them and set up activities to all do together. Over this time Alison got very close to the ghosts even closer than when she was alive- especially to Thomas now she would not call him anything other than Tom. Kitty now had Alison closer to her, more than ever. Pat now had someone to have constant conversation with, Captain now had someone who would listen to him constantly talk about his experience in the war. Fanny was happy to have the presence of distant family with her, Robin would often find himself playing chess with Alison, Mary slowly opened up about her trial- building up trust in her most recently dead friend. Humphrey finally had someone to place his head back on and finally Julian now had someone on his side to start a debate club and he taught her how to build up the strength to push objects.
As months went on Alison had realised that Mike had his friend from college, Andrea, round a lot more often. They were always close so she never saw anything wrong, even then she was very busy being popular among the ghosts so she didn't have much time to observe them.
One night, they all said good byes to eachother and headed to bed. Despite being gone for over a year now, Alison always made it her responsibility to lay next to Mike before falling asleep. However, this night was very different and changed it all. When she walked into the room she let out a loud and snappy "NO" and she fell onto the ground. Everyone rushed to see what had happened and they quickly connected the dots. Andrea and Mike were on the bed hugging whilst drifting off to sleep.
"Alison, you've got to move on dear, I'm sure this sight is surprising to everyone here but as most of us had to, you've got to move on" Captain declared. Pat wrapped his arms around Alison hugging her tightly in a friendly way standing on his toes in an attempt to reach her hight. "Have some sympathy Cap" Pat sighed "I know what it's like, I died once too you know? Carol left me for Maurice and it was not easy for me, especially because he was my best friend and she was my..well..wife."
Alison rushed out and was devistated from what she just saw. Thinking on the spot she remembered Tom's spot where he would go whenever he was sad and wanted time to himself. She rushed there and sat down weeping, looking at the rain drops roll down the window.
