Chapter 47: Camp Jupiter

Sitting in a bus full of loud kids for 2 days was not Nico's idea of fun.

It would've been almost instant if Nico just shadow travelled. Even if he took Jules-Albert, it would've only taken a few hours. But no, he had to come with the rest of Camp Half-Blood.

Nico felt really anxious and on-edge. Whenever the bus squeaked, Nico flinched. He had been feeling this way for the past few days, and he didn't really know why. Just like how he just randomly got back pain, or headaches, or why he felt dizzy and weak sometimes. It was just so sudden and random. The worst had to be when it was hard to breathe. But he decided to push that out of his mind. He would see his sister soon.

"So, I was thinking." Nico said to Will, holding his hand. "I should probably come out to Hazel and Frank, right? I should introduce you? And introduce you to Reyna, too?"

"If you want to."

"I'm just nervous. Hazel...she was born in '28. I don't know if she'll be accepting."

"From what you've told me about her, she seems like a very kind-hearted person. I'm sure she'll be accepting."

"What if she's not?"

"Then I'll be right here."

In a few minutes, the bus came to a halt. Nico took a deep breath and stood up. He walked out of the doors of the bus, Will right behind him.

As he exited the bus, he noticed that there were tons of people waiting close by. Nico scanned the crowd to see if he could see Hazel. After a couple of minutes, he noticed her in the crowd holding hands with Frank, walking in Nico's direction. Her face seemed solemn, but she tried to put on a smile.

Once she made it to the buses, Nico and Hazel stared at each other for a couple of seconds. Then she enveloped him in a hug. "I missed you, Nico."

"I missed you, too." He told her, hugging her back.

After she hugged him, she stepped back. "I take it you know...." She trailed off.

Nico nodded. "I do. I'm sorry, Hazel."

She wiped her eyes. "I'm really sorry, too. I know he was your friend."

"He was." Nico looked away.

Nico shook hands with Frank.

"Hey, Nico." Frank greeted him.

"Hi. So how have you guys been? It's been a while."

"Well, I had my birthday." Hazel told him. "So I'm 14 now. I don't know, not much has really gone on around here, just the usual Camp Jupiter stuff. Well, until we had a huge battle and lost half of the Legion. And until Apollo showed up."

"So my dad was here!" Will said.

Hazel and Frank looked at him. "Who's this?" Frank asked.

"Oh, sorry. Hazel, Frank, this is Will Solace. Will, this is my sister Hazel Levesque and her boyfriend Frank Zhang."

They shook hands.

Nico scratched his neck. "Um, there's something I need to tell you. I was really scared before, it was something I didn't really feel comfortable sharing about me, so I never told anyone. But I'm not upset by it anymore." He grabbed Will's hand. "I'm gay. And Will is my boyfriend."

At first, neither of them said anything. They looked at each other, and looked at Nico.

"I knew it!" Hazel said.
