Y/N's POV:

It was the day of the festival. Everyone all over the school was talking, having fun, and presenting their clubs to others. I sat in an empty classroom, with dimmed lights and posters across the wall. Well, mostly empty.

Inside the classroom was the literature club, Monika, Sayori, Natsuki, and Yuri, all preparing to share their poems with the students about to flood the room. Everyone seemed excited, except Yuri, who was sitting in a lone desk in a corner. Curious, I walked over to her.

"Hey, how you feeling?" I gently asked. Yuri took a deep breath, and squeezed her poem in her hand.

"I... I'm nervous. Really nervous. I can't get myself to calm down." Yuri said, silently panicking. I sighed, and placed my hand onto hers.

"Why don't we practice? We still have a bit before we perform. Read your poem to me." I instucted. Yuri, with hesitation, began to read me her poem. Her deep, quiet voice with her sophisticated writing made the poem sound like a work of art. I couldn't even pay attention to the poem by how distracted I was by her reading.

"You did great, hun! You've got nothing to worry about." I reassured her.

"But you don't understand, Y/N! When I'm reading to you, I feel so calm and collected, because I know you won't judge me. When I read in front of others, strangers... It's like reading with a gun pointed to my head!" Yuri stammered. I placed my head on her shoulder.

"Hey, don't worry! Everything's going to be okay." I said. I tried my best to calm her nerves, but in the moment, it felt impossible. Her breath was shaky, and her face was red. I thought for a moment. Then, I came up with an idea.

"Listen, when you perform, I don't want you to look out into the audience. I want you to look at me. I'll be sitting in the front row." I said. Yuri raised a brow.

"Why's that?" Yuri asked.

"Because it'll calm you down. If you say reading to me is easier than reading to an audience, then just pretend you're only reading to me!" I explained. Yuri stayed quiet. She then rested her head on mine.

"Oh, Y/N... You're so considerate. But it's not that easy, I'm afraid. I'll just force myself to look elsewhere, and-" Yuri cut herself off.

"How about I stand with you? I'll hold your hand the entire way through. Monika will allow it, and if anyone tries to judge us, I'll fight them!" I said. Of course, I was exaggerating, but it made Yuri laugh.

"Well, I suppose if you put it like that, I have no choice then to accept." Yuri said, still giggling. Soon enough, students started to walk in, and me and Yuri made our way to the podium in the front of the room.
