I sit on my bed staring at the ground.

What did I do?

The only thing I did was tutor Josh.

But, of course that was way much more than anyone can ever think.

Someone knocks on my door, and opens it.

Clara.

"Hi Chloe." She says coming over to sit on the bed.

I scoot over to make room.

"Hi Clara. What's up?"

She plays with my blanket, "Are you ok?"

I nod, "Why do you ask."

She sighs, "Well mommmy said that you aren't feeling good right now and I shouldn't bother you. But, I wanted to come in to make sure you were ok even though mommy told me not."

I smile, "Well thank you."

"When will Josh be coming over?"

I bite my lip hard and close my eyes, "Um he won't be coming over anymore."

Clara gives me a confused look, "Why? Is he sick too?"

I shake my head, "No. He just isn't gonna come over anymore."

"Well if anything happened I hope you know that he looked like he loved you. Even though you didn't think it he seemed to actually care about you and want to be with you. He loves you chlo."

She stands up and walks out.

I flop down on my bed and wonder, How did my 8 year old sister get to be so smart about love where I know nothing about it?

"Chloe." I hear someone yell. I turn around from my locker and see Brandon running over.

I roll my eyes as he leans against the locker next to mine.

"So I was thinking before we take pictures for Prom you can come over and we can hang out."

I nod my head slowly, "Yeah but only for like an hour because I have to babysit my sister before."

I lied.

Brandon says, "Ok. Um Chloe......I just wanted to say I really like you."

What did he just say? I clench my fist clearly disgusted and confused.

I hesitate, "Um me too."

He kisses my cheek and walks away. I close my locker and lean my head against it.

Josh walks in front of me not looking my way.

What has this thing come to?

Josh is angry because of me.

Brandon thinks he has a chance with me.

Clara knows more than me.
