I walked in shyly,my grandmother confidently. The trial had not started yet, and I wasn't looking forward to when it would. The press was there, and as I walked in, the cameras turned and trained on me. As did all eyes. The only pair of eyes that did not meet mine, were my father's.

"All rise for the honorable judge Evertin." He strode in like he owned the place, and anyone who came before him would be sent to jail. The sight of him even made me nervous, and I'm not on trial.

"You may be seated." As the jury sat down his eyes raked through them as if to say, try me. "The accusation may begin." A thin man in a suit stood and thanked the judge. His eyes were tiny weasel eyes, and his nose looked like it belonged on a bird, not on his pale thin face.

"We call Stacey Dowes to the stand." A collective gasp went up through the jury. I sighed, exasperated.

"let's get this over with." I mumbled as I walked up to the stand.

"Hello Stacey." The bird man greeted me.

"Salutations." I said sarcastically, chuckles rippled through the court. But bird man's eyes darkened.

"I see you haven't lost your humor." he hissed. " I am Pedsnki, do you mind if I ask you a few question?" I nodd. Of course I nodd. "What is your relation with the defense?" I sighed again.

"He's the man that hit me during drunk driving. He's also my father." Another gasp went up through the crowd, and father looked up at me, tears in his eyes.

Pendsnki simply continued with his investigation. "I understand you were training to go to the Olympics, as a runner." I nodd again. "How are you going to get there now?"

"I'm not." I said shortly. A smug smile went up his white face.

"Can you point to the person who disabled you?" I pointed to father."Do you blame him for ruining your dream, and your life?" The cameras and eyes were all trained on me. I stood up and walked shakily towards my dad. Yes, he's worthy to be my dad.

"I used to." I whispered as I knelt at his side. His eyes were wet with recognition. "I can't keep him from his fate, but I can say this." I leaned over and wrapped my dad in a hug. "I forgive you."
