The flashlight taped on my arm realy helped to see where I was. I didn't quite know where I was going, I just needed to clear my head. The cold air, mixed with the beautiful sparkling sky, just seemed so serene. This place did not, under any circumstance, discrbe the conflict inside me.
I hadn't told grandma that Martha found my dad. She probably already knew. That woman knows everything. From my deepest secret, to my loudest feelings.
I suppose I was too wrapped up in my head to notice a big orange car swirving to and fro on the road, coming straight at me. To busy wallowing in self pity to hear the screeching tires, to smell the thick alchole sent.
Even when my legs were screaming with pain, and the stars were laughing at me, I didn't notice until my world went black.
I awoke screaming in pain. It seemed the whole world was screaming. Sirens were screaming, police were sxreaming, my grandmother was screaming.
"Is she in pain?" A young policemen asked the medic standing over me.
I could see the annoyence in his face. "No, your ugliness scared her out of her witts!" Angered, the police man backed up twoards his car.
I would have laughed but I was too busy screaming in pain.
"Hey, calm down deep breaths," the medic soothed, I took short strangled breaths, " I'm Josh Venndic, can you tell me your name?"
"Stacey." I manged to gasp.
"Well, don't worry Stacey, you'll be alright." I felt tears stream out of my eyes, running over my cheeks.
"W-what happend?" I choked out. A sadness shadowed Josh's face.
"You were hit by a drunk driver. Can you tell me how old you are?" He rushed out all at once as I was lifted onto a stretcher.
Oh man, oh man, he is so cute. With those dark green eyes, and musley arms. "I'll be twenty in four weeks. You? Ouch!"
"Sorry, I had to distract you to give you a sleeping shot. I'm twenty-one."
All the screaming and panic and pain ebbed away as my world went black one more time. The last thing I saw was Josh's beautiful chisled jaw and brown hair.
