"Earthquakes shake the dust behind you
This world at times will blind you
Still I know I'll see you there
Come a little closer, then you'll see
Things aren't always what they seem to be"Anaya sneezed against the cold wind complimenting the brisk weather as two figures caught her sight, Rishabh and Aarzoo, unaware of everything that's going around them, well most of the world was.
She hated them, all of them. These government officials with their pretenses and lack of spine, ironically, she was no different, maybe even worse.
She knew she wouldn't be here if not because of her father.People like her get money not these designations and formal introductions.
Anaya Rizvi, Special Unit,001
She doesn't despise the introductions anymore but for how long.
Without the name Rizvi she would be nothing but a petty goon, killing people for money if simply put, government or not,a murder is a murder.
But now she was here in clothes with no creases or bloodstains on them, but she have known too many of these people too not know the truth.
There's always blood on them, even if they change the shirts and she knew for she was no different.
Distracting her train of thoughts, her phone buzzed, thankfully she doesn't like to be all by herself but neither did she trust people enough to be with them, anyway, every distraction was welcomed.
.......
Anaya knocked Samar's door twice and then got in "What's the emergency?"she asked him.
He took a few steps towards her, giving her enough time to examine him and his room's shabby state.
"Your hand"he said as he slided a chair towards her, signalling her to sit.
"It's not an emergency"she said annoyed sitting on the chair, she really thought it was going to be another case as Samar held her hand examining the wound.
Well it was more bigger than the cigarette's mouth by now, after that stunt she pulled in rain that she shouldn't ,she have had this thought everytime she moved her palm.
"It's a burn"Samar said clearing up the wound with an antiseptic.
"Right, don't you have other important work to do,you are the forensic head ain't you"
"Yes that's me"he said applying a cream on her wound "and these are my orders for now"
"Kabir"she said disapprovingly taking her hand back from his hold.
"Yes and nothing's more important than my team's well being to me"Samar said grabbing her palm again as he gave her a weird expression.
"Well,Kabir's line not mine"he says as he finally pinned the bandage.
"Not that severe, but it's infected you can take these for now"he said pointing to the two packets of tablets on his table.
"Now,how did this happen?"he asks lightly letting go off her bandaged palm.
He took that silence for an answer that was not about to come.
