Trolls and the Hunters

Chapter 32

Branch fell towards the ground, Uueeka quickly putting Poppy down, and running to jump off the edge of the mountain.

He flew down towards Branch, his wings tucked into his sides, to gain speed.

     "Come on, Uueeka!" Branch screamed, looking down towards the ground, as he fell closer and closer to hitting it. "Kath!"

Quickly, Uueeka got underneath Branch, catching him on his back.

"Upa!" Branch yelled, holding gently onto Uueeka's feathers.

     Uueeka spread his wings, flying up into the sky, right before hitting the ground bellow.

     "Yeah! Whoo!" Branch shouted, standing on Uueeka's back, as he held his hands up in celebration. "Yeah! Go Uueeka! You did it!"

     Pansy and Poppy both smiled, watching him finally ride the Synathin with no fear.

     "No!" Creek shouted, stomping his foot in anger. "This isn't over! You're dumb bird can't save you!"

     Branch looked down at Creek with a smirk, as Uueeka circled around the purple troll.

     "Uueeka's not a bird..." he said softly, pausing for a second, as he looked at Pansy. They both smiled at each other, before Branch looked back down at Creek, his smile turning into a glare. "He's a Synathin!"

     He jumped off of Uueeka's back, tackling Creek to the ground.

"Get off of me!" Creek shouted, trying to wiggle free of Branch's grasp.

Branch punched at his face, but Creek fought back, shoving Branch off the side of the mountain.

Poppy's eyes widened in fear, as Branch tumbled over the edge.

As he fell, he quickly grabbed onto Creek, pulling him over the cliff with him.

     "Branch!" Poppy screamed out in pure terror.

Quickly, she ran towards the edge of the mountain, looking down at Branch, as he plummeted to his doom.

     As they both tumbled towards the ground, Creek punched at Branch's face, while Branch kicked at Creek's stomach.

     "I will get my revenge!" Creek shouted, grabbing onto Branch's vest, and pulling him close, so he couldn't escape. "Even if I have to die with you."

Branch tried to pull away, but it was no use, Creek had a tight hold of him, and refused to let go.

They both fell, getting closer and closer to the ground, Branch's heart racing in terror, as Creek laughed maniacally.

"I win, Branch!" Creek shouted. "It's over!"
"Branch!" he suddenly heard in a far away shout.

     Branch looked up, his eyes wide with fear, Poppy staring over the edge, watching him fall, but something else caught Branch's eye.

He smiled, and then looked back down at Creek.

     "I don't think so, Creek..." he said, smirking down at the purple troll, who raised an eyebrow in confusion.

     Quickly, Branch slipped out of his vest, Creek falling away from him, as he screamed.

"Noooooo!" Creek shouted, disappearing into the fog bellow.

Branch flipped himself over, grabbing onto Uueeka, as the Synathin flew down towards him, catching the little troll on his back.

     Quickly, Uueeka spread his wings, soaring up into the sky, as Branch laughed in victory.

Uueeka flew back up to the top of the mountain, landing so that Branch could climb off his back.

     "Branch!" Poppy yelled, jumping into him with a hug.

     "That was amazing!" she said, kissing his cheek, happy that he was now safe.
"Not as amazing, as how lucky I am to have you," he responded with a smile.

     He kissed her on the lips, Uueeka beginning to make kissing sounds, as if mocking them.

     "Shut up, dumb bird," Poppy joked, chuckling quietly, as she looked over at Uueeka. "Synathin," Branch and Uueeka corrected with a smile.
"What ever," Poppy laughed, jumping into Branch again for another kiss.

     "Hey!" Pansy suddenly interrupted. "Hate to break up this emotional moment, but... I'm still stuck under a giant bird!"

     They all looked over at her, Uueeka hissing at the bird menacingly.

     The bird sat there for a moment, staring with wide eyes, before finally getting off of Pansy, and flying off in fear, not wanting to get into a fight with the Synathin.

     Pansy stood, dusting off her cloths, as she walked over to the two trolls and Synathin.

     "You did great, Branch," she praised, petting Branch on the back.
"Thanks," he said, laughing quietly. "Now how about we all get back to the grove. I miss my kids."

     Pansy smiled, and then climbed up onto Uueeka, Branch following without complaint.

He looked down at Poppy, who smiled up at him from the ground.

"You coming?" he asked, holding out a hand to help her up.
"You know I'd go anywhere with you," she responded, accepting his help, and climbing up onto the Synathin's back.

She sat down behind Branch, hugging him tight, as he kissed her forehead, both of their hearts overflowing with love, happy that the other was finally safe.

Pansy looked back at the two of them, smiling before turning her attention back to Uueeka, petting his head gently.

     "Foony!" Pansy shouted, Uueeka quickly spreading his wings, beginning to fly up into the sky.

     "You want to do the honors?" Pansy asked, smiling smugly back at Branch.

Branch smiled, clearing his throat before shouting; "Fueesha!"

Uueeka picked up speed, flying faster than ever before, all the trolls cheering, as he flew towards home.
