Chapter 14 - We Meet Again

I woke up in a bed, a bed that wasn't mine.

I remembered everything that had happen earlier.

My suicide attempt, the cold metal railing of the old bridge, my brother back from the dead, and then nothing.

But then I wondered, maybe I was just dreaming, just like last time.

I looked around, the room was white and looked like a hospital room.

Maybe Karen had seen me freak out after my dream two days ago and had brought me to the emergency clinic. The rest may had just been a dream.

Maybe my brother isn't back from the dead and I'm just asleep in my bed, in the house with Karen. I pinch my arm trying to wake myself. Nothing.

I'm wide awake, this isn't a dream.

I'm connected to a monitor by some wires and the monitor showed my vital signs.

I grasped the wires and pulled them off my skin. I carefully got out of the bed and walked around the room.

I'm alive, I thought, and so is he. We are alive.

My name is Ana Jones, and I am alive.

My brother is not dead. He never was.

My train of thoughts was interrupted.

“Hi”, said Kyle walking in the small room, “the doctors told me you were awake. Are you okay?”

“Am I okay?” I snapped. “You are suppose to be dead!”

“It's a long story...” He started.

“No it's not” I yelleThe story is that you are suppose to be dead but you aren't! How could you fake your death like this?!

I was infuriated. How could I be so foolish. How could I let my little brother fake his own death, let my mom screw her life and let our family fall apart. Karen doesn't seem so bad after all!

- I can't believe you would do such a thing!, I exploded. Fake your death and make the people you love believe you are dead!!!

A man dressed all in white strolled in carying a needle that looked bigger than his hand.

- What is going on Kyle!? Why is this happenning? Why are you doing this?!, I continued.

- I have to, I'm so sorry Ana.

The man in white approached me and before I could understand what was happenning everything went black.
