The sun slowly settled itself on the big, blue sky, as clouds surrounded it.

There was still a slight smell of a tasty breakfast lingering in the air, as Sapnap, Karl and George sat down at the small table.

Since today all of them, besides Dream, had a free day, they decided to play some board games.

There weren't many times, when they could just forget about work and their belonging to the mafia, so the three friends were really happy about today.

Their conversations flew through the air, as they choose some kind of board game to play. Of course, Sapnap and George argued about it, but Karl stepped in and choose the one he thought all of them could enjoy. The other two agreed with him.

You could think that it's weird for criminals to just have board games around their house, but it was actually quite normal for Dream's and Badboyhalo's mafia.

A lot of mafia members get sometimes bored, so they will take any fun activity you will give them. Board games were the easiest to get, and the bosses haven't heard any complaints about them.

Karl's laughter beamed through the room, as he claimed the first win. George started whining about Sapnap being trash, and Sapnap defended himself with stupid arguments.

This reminded Karl of his childhood.

Well, the first part of it, at least.

You see, Karl had a loving mother, who would always take care of him, no matter the price.

His father left both of them when Karl was only 2 years old, so he didn't really know him. Karl doesn't even think that he wants to know more about him. After all, from what he heard, his dad was an asshole. He got drunk every night, and left Karl's mother after a big argument over Karl. His father called him a mistake, a party accident.

It made him absolutely sick.

His mom talked about it once, and that was it. She didn't want to be reminded of someone she once loved, turning into a piece of shit.

Karl accepted her choice, even when he was curious. His mother has suffered enough, but even after everything she still looked over Karl, as if he was some kind of masterpiece.

Both of them always played board games in the evening, laughing like there was no problems in the world anymore.

Well, that was until something terrible happened.

It was a warm evening, like any other. Karl was waiting for his mom to come back from her work.

With every minute, Karl was getting more and more suspicious. His mother was never late.

He waited and waited, till it was almost midnight.

Karl was worried. He didn't know where his mother was.

Well, that was until he saw the news on the television.

Since Karl was ten years old at that moment, he could understand what they were saying.

The place where his mother worked was attacked.

No one was found alive or dead. They said that the criminals had probably kidnapped the workers.

Karl's heart stopped beating at that moment. You could imagine how terrified he was.

After that day, his aunt took care of him, but she wasn't too gentle. Sure, she gave him food and never abused him, at least not physically.

Since that day, Karl's dream was to become a spy. To help other people.

To find his mother.

Karl still haven't found her, and he thought he could never feel as happy with someone as he was with her, but it changed.

Here he is now, at literally criminal's house, being happier than ever. Laughing like there was no tomorrow.

He still will keep trying to find her, even when helping criminals.

Police never bothered to help him anyway.

Karl broke out of his train of thoughts, as Dream walked in the room suddenly.

"Sapnap, can you come with me real quick? I need something." Dream asked, looking at the three of them.

Sapnap looked at him with confusion, but obeyed and stood up, turning in the boy's direction.

"Sure." He answered.

Dream nodded and walked back to his room with Sapnap.

"What do you need?" Sapnap wondered.

"Okay, well..." Dream started, "I know that you're not going to be happy about this, but I need you to get Quackity from the bus station today at midnight." He finished, uncertain of how the other would react.

Sapnap was silent for a minute, then he frowned.

"Why me?" Sapnap demanded.

Dream sighed, "I'm sorry, Sapnap, but no one else is able to. Quackity informed me about his come back out of nowhere." He explained.

Sapnap shook his head, but agreed, not wanting to upset his best friend.

"Alright, I will do it, Dream."

Dream's eyes sparkled, "Really? Thank you Sapnap!" He beamed.

Sapnap was surprised at Dream's overreaction, but laughed at him.

~Time skip~

As the night sky was finally decorated with shiny stars, Sapnap walked out of the door and locked it.

He slowly approached his car and got in it. He started the car and drove to the bus stop, where he was supposed to meet Quackity.

Sapnap still wasn't too cheerful about picking him up, but whatever. He didn't have a choice anyway.

Finally, a bus arrived, and he saw Quackity getting out of it.

Sapnap got closer, and was ready to make fun of the other boy, until he saw his condition.

He froze in shock.

Quackity was bruised on his soft face and his eyes looked like he was crying for hours.

'What the fuck' Sapnap thought.

As soon as Quackity saw him, he ran straight into his arms.

"Please help me, please help me." Quackity repeated in a quiet voice, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He cried into Sapnap's strong arms, holding onto him with his dear life.

Sapnap still stayed frozen in place, until he felt the fragile boy slip from his arms. He quickly catched him before he hit he ground.

Quackity passed out.
