A few days later, you got tired of staying in the compound, you wanted to go out. So you patiently waited until most of them were out on a mission before heading out. You walked around New York, beholding all the tall vibrant buildings that you missed in your life. Constant grey used to surround your life.
You took a stroll around Central Park, looking at people surrounded by people around similar age groups. You didn't want to seem like the odd one out, so left there pretty quickly. You have a couple bucks with you, so decided to try out Starbucks. You saw plenty of people carrying around their cup with their logo when you were walking through Central Park. You noticed that Starbucks were everywhere. Every couple of streets you are able to see a store with their logo on it.
You stepped into their store and looked at their long list of menu items. There were so many words that you didn't understand. Tall? Grande? Venti? What? Doesn't tall mean big? What is Grande and Venti? You decided to get the cheapest thing on the menu, a cold brew, you don't have much money anyways and beggars can't be choosers. It took a lot out of you to order a drink, the cashier asked so many questions and you didn't even hear them properly.
When you walked out of Starbucks with a cold brew in your hand, you tried a sip.
"Yuck. This dark liquid tastes so bitter. Shouldn't have wasted my money on this." You almost spitted out the coffee from your mouth. You didn't want to waste your money, so you held onto it until you got back to the compound.
The rest of the members came back from their mission by the time you got back. They were gathering around the entrance discussing something.
Their head turned towards you simultaneously the moment you opened the door.
"Where have you been?" Nat stepped away from the group and approached you.
"I went to Central Park and walked around." You shrugged your shoulders.
"You are not allowed to leave." Nat stared at you.
'Chill... Here, I bought you coffee." You pushed the coffee into her hands. You were not going to drink it anyways. You brushed past everyone and headed to your room.
"Wait!" Tony shouted.
You turned around
"The school term is starting next week, and I have applied for you to attend."
"What?! No way... I'm not going to school." You stepped towards him. "You didn't even ask me beforehand."
"You're still a kid, you should be attending school and I am not taking no for an answer." Tony looked directly at you, not backing down. You looked towards Nat who just lifted her eyebrow. You can't believe they forced you into this and stormed away.
If you still had the coffee in your hand, you would have smashed it on the floor and made a mess. You slammed the door behind you and screamed and punched the wall repeatedly, making a dent. You stopped and saw all the dried paint on your knuckles. You shook them off and sat at your bed.
You don't know how you'll be in school. You hardly attended school before. The memories were missing but you felt a bit familiar.
