Arora House
From the outside, all seems to be normal but the reality is far from that. In the living room, Beeji and Jankhi were sitting, listening to the argument of the mother and daughter.
Both Sarla and Preeta were shouting at each other. This was the first serious argument which was taking place since Preeta's return.
Preeta came back home from the hospital just to see her mother sitting in the living room waiting for her. Beeji and Janhki were trying to calm her but in vain. Sarla didn't give her the chance to talk and angrily shoved the paper in her face. Preeta got shocked reading it.
"For how long? Huh? For how long were you planning from hiding this from all of us?" Sarla said angrily, taking the paper back. Preeta tried to snatch it again but Sarla didn't let her.
"Why were you in my room in the first place? You shouldn't have snoop around." Preeta replied furiously.
"I didn't snoop okay. I was just keeping your clothes in your cupboard when a file of yours fell and all the papers were out. But it's good that it happened else we would never knew this! Now tell me for how long were you planning to keep this from us?"
"This is not your business mom. You should understand that if I hid this, then there must be a big reason behind." Preeta said tiredly.
"But still, don't you think we have a right to know about this? This isn't a small thing Preeta! Do you even realise what you hid ?"
"Mom stop it! I'm no longer a child. I'm an adult who can take her own decision and this," Preeta took the paper from her, "is my business only. I know what I am doing. You need to trust me."
"Okay fine but tell me something, does Karan know about this?" Preeta averted her gaze and looked down. Sarla sighed and came closer to her and held her hands. Preeta looked at her.
"I don't know why are you hiding this and if you think it's for the best, okay I respect your decision. But you need to tell Karan this as soon as possible before he learns this from someone else and trust me, he wouldn't like that. I trust you because you are sensible. Don't wait for the right time as you don't know what may happened later on. Tell him, it's his right to know." Sarla left in to the kitchen.
"Preeta, your mom is perfectly right. Don't wait else you might regret if this truth come out not the way you want. I know your mother Preeta; she will not hesitate to reveal the truth if someone ask her. Think about my words." Beeji held her cheeks before going back to her room.
"I know you will take the good decision Preeta. I trust you." Jankhi kissed her forehead, "Now go and freshen up, I will call you when dinner is ready." Preeta smiled at her in gratitude and went to her room.
In the showeer, Preeta let the water run on her body and closed her eyes. She remembered the words of Rishi, now her mother and grandmother. She didn't plan for them to know about this like that. She wanted the situation with Prithvi to get resolved first before revealing the other truth she hide.
But now, she doesn't know what to do. Wait longer or tell him? Her heart is telling her to tell him but her mind is stopping her. She is so scared of Karan's reaction; she is not prepared for that. Maybe that's why she is delaying that matter more longer.
Dinner was a quiet affair. The atmosphere was a bit tense since the argument. Preeta quickly finished her dinner and went back to her room, saying that she was going to sleep.
But it was nearly one in the morning and she was still wide awake. She tossed again and again in her bed but sleep wasn't coming. Her mind was too full of thoughts which wasn't letting her sleep.
