"*yawn* where are the people?"

A young hamster groaned as her sleazy body leaned on the counter bench. Tuesday was the only weekday that she could have time to look over the bookshop. Despite being primarily a bookshop, Yuri also sold stationery items just for extra amounts of cash. Besides, the location is near a local school, anyway.

Maybe that was why the shop was empty. Everyone was busy.

"Meh, back to reading, I guess..." Yuri groaned before putting her legs on the counter. She made sure to get herself comfortable as she leaned on her chair. Munching on the salted seaweeds, Yuri grabbed a thick book of "Dragonkeeper" before indulging herself in the literature.

Although technically she was at work, Yuri felt like it was her passing time instead. Sure, during the golden hour, she had to check out people's purchases or recommending books to readers, but moments like this? She could comfortably finish 2 thick books.

The Jo-Jo bookshop was her sanctuary. With all the books in her arsenal, she could always read them whenever she wanted. She had plenty of copies of them in the storage, really. She knew that all literature nowadays could be easily accessed through the Internet, she still loved the feeling of the texture of the paper as she turned it over. Plus, no Internet is required.

Yuri aspired to be a writer after her late grandpa. Even at his old age, she still remembered him being excited over the current generation's literature and how the old tradition was still alive. Teenage Yuri was astonished at the penmanship of his work, which started her deep interest in literature. Her friends were weird out when Yuri announced that she would take the Bachelor of Literature to be a writer, but they still supported her anyway. She was the high school captain of the Writing Club, anyway.

Speaking of her friends, one of them arrived.

"Yuri...I know you love books, but at least don't be like a grandma in the shop."

Yuri glanced up from her page to find her cake-loving friend standing there (menacingly). As her title suggested, one of her hands was busy holding a bag of slices of bread.

"Oh, Kwangbae! What are you doing here?" Yuri got to her proper posture. "Don't you have classes today?"

"Nah." Hyewon sipped on her bubble tea. "The professor got a stomach ache so our class got canceled. I still have my afternoon class, though."
