With the loom of the Telmarine invasion growing more everyday, the Narnians worked over time to prepare for the battle. Weapons were made in masses and armour was created in such speed that soon they had too much. Not that it was a bad thing. Sentries were posted outside the How at Peter's request. The Telmarine visits were beginning to get more frequent and it did nothing to help Lenna's worry.

On a rather cold morning, Lenna walked through the How, her mind racing at all the possibilities. Still her father was nowhere to be seen and had not tried to contact her in any way. Without a destination in mind, Lenna found herself walking down to the stone table room. Sitting in front of her father's stone form should have been comforting but all Lenna wanted to do was glare and shout at it. If her father wouldn't answer her in real life then a stone carving was just as good.

However when she reached the stone table, it was to see it already occupied by two other people. The blond hair of Peter was easily recognisable and the small figure of Lucy sat beside him. Lenna paused in her step and hid in the shadow of the torched tunnel.

"You're lucky you know," said Peter's voice.

"What do you mean?" That was Lucy.

"To have seen him. I wish he'd just give me some kind of proof. To us all and especially to Lenna," Peter said quietly.

Lenna was able to hear him as she stood quietly in the doorway watching the two siblings waiting for them to finish. She knew exactly who they were talking about. Her father had not shown himself to anyone but Lucy. She tried not to listen to the disappointment in Peter's voice as he talked about her father.

She knew she wasn't the only to be disappointed in her father but hearing the others around her, made it only ten times worse. Aslan wasn't around to feel their hurt but Lenna was. She felt every single bit of it. All the pain. All the fear. The last drop of hope that dwindled away. Everyone had been so strong these last weeks but Peter's words only showed Lenna that it was all a façade. A mask to hide their fear from her.

"Maybe we're the ones who need to prove ourselves to him," Lucy suggested and Peter turned to her smiling.

Lenna frowned; she shouldn't have to prove herself to her father. Should she?

Suddenly Edmund ran in to the room and past Lenna. He didn't spot her as she pressed herself against the wall.

"Pete, you'd better come quickly," Edmund called and Lucy and Peter turned standing up quickly.

They ran to the tunnel and past Lenna without noticing her. Her heart was racing so loud. Her breath came sharply. Peter's words raced in her head along with Lucy's. She didn't even notice that one of them had stopped.
