Part 12

(Y/N) P.O.V.

Krieg was very eager to start the mission. To be honest me too. It was better than thinking of a way to get home. It is probably impossible for now at least. Maybe defeating Jack will do it automatically. I buy some ammo and we move to our destination. We walk to the bandit camp. Thankfully it's still empty from our last visit. Yeah, visit. We move higher up the mountain to the big cave. It was a bit colder here. But I stopped to feel it by now. Like I got used to it. Axton is the one leading us. First Vault Hunters are after him and then me, Gaige, and Krieg. We approached the exit very soon. There were Ammo and Health machines. Solder suddenly stopped.

"Stop. We need to prepare for everything. Maya, Salvador you are with me. Zero like last time covers us. (Y/N), Gaige and Krieg go with us. Now we move slowly and do our thing."

Not the best plan but sometimes simple means the best.

We move forward. First are many Bullymongs pits. Monsters from small to very big. They attack us first. I
Krieg jumps down to kill the monsters that were throwing ice at us. I moved right after him and covered Psycho. Which was an easy job. Soon Gaige came to help. The two of us were shooting back to back. From what felt like an eternity we made it to the platform. Bullymongs we're dead and we could move on. I made sure to get some of the furs for Old Hunter. Quite fast we were at the bridge. Zero climbed on the barricade and got the position to shoot bandits. Axton pulled the lever and the bridge came from the water. We hide for a moment. Some bandits came from a building on the other side. Zero was fast to eliminate them. We moved slowly forward. Found some ammo in barrels and chests. When we made it to the first-floor bar something changed. Everyone got a notification on the ECHO communicator.

"Finally I can get Deathtrap."
Gaige was so happy. That she hugged me from happiness. Hunters and Krieg too were happy. So they got new abilities. And something fell from the sky. Axton was the one to take the package and he looked like he saw the love of his life. Probably his turret.

"And you (Y/N)? Do you have something?" Mechromancer asked me.  And once again Vault Hunters looked at me.

"Well...not. I think I will have to do it myself or I already had it with me and didn't know about it."

"That makes sense. You are from a place far away from here."

"So we have to wait and see. Now we should prepare and move higher. We have only one for left." The soldier is always on the move and mission.

I grip my pistols. Gaige prepared to get her robot. Maya raised her right hand. Salvador took a second gun. Krieg took buzz axe and looks determined. Axton prepared his turret. Zero slowly moved to the doors.  Suddenly the opened and a Midget riding Bbullymong appeared. The monster attacked us. Everyone started shooting and used their special abilities. It was pure madness. Bullets went flying left and right. I even had to heal Psycho once. I know he appreciated it even if he said something weird. When defeated we all moved to the room Boss came from. And surprise we had to fight two more bandits. We found some guns and ammo. Coming back to Hammerlock was slow. We didn't run this time. Everyone was tired and bloody. Only Krieg was acting like he didn't care. I was walking with him at the back of the group. We made it to the town. Most of us sat down. The soldier got a gun from the Old Hunter. I stood up.

"Sir Hammerlock can I again use your kitchen?"

"Yes, you can (Y/N). I will help you."

We went to cook and others rested.

"Sir I have some fur and I taught you may want it."

"You can call me Allistair, and I would like the fur. Say you prefer sniper or a shotgun?"

"I will take a shotgun. Thank you, Allistair."

With a new gun in my backpack, I could cook and then move to Sanctuary. With two of us in the kitchen, it only took us almost an hour. It made me think about my empty flat and cooking with friends. When we made it we put everything on the plates and moved to our group. What we saw was odd. Siren and Gaige were talking, Salvador was cleaning the guns, Zero just sat and listen to Claptrap, Krieg was sitting and digging in the snow, and Axton was petting his turret and called it pet names. Hammerlock gave plates to Gaige, Maya, Salvador, and himself. He also sat between Siren and gunzerker. I gave to the rest and had to sit between Soldier and Psycho. It was a bit awkward because they moved to sit closer to me. And you could feel the tension in the air.

"So minions we can finally move to Captain Flynn. I will guide you and you all will protect me."

Thank God for Claptrap. His request made us aware of the upcoming fight. And I saw that it somehow motivated us to get going. As they say new day, new war.
