Astrid
Present
Krisha's calling?
I finished my ponytail and picked it up, "Krisha??"
"Astrid!" she squeaked,
I winced at the name and tried to regain my posture,
"Shit, sorry. I meant to call you, Tri." She must've heard my small wince,
"You still can't stand people calling you Astrid?" she asked,
I cleared my throat, "No, uh. I'm fine with it, actually.."
"Okay, then. Anyway, I'm in town right now and I was at your apartment building but they said you moved??" she asked through the line,
"Oh, yeah actually just three days ago," I scratched the back of my head, "But I can go there today after I unpack the rest of my stuffs. Until when are you here??"
"No need to rush, I'm going to be here for the next two weeks," she said,
"Wow, that's great!" I said in excitement, it's been the longest she's stayed here ever since she got into that fashion company she's always wanted to be in two years ago.
"Listen, honey. I'd love to chitchat a little bit more but I need to do some unpacking over here too." She chortled,
"Yeah, yeah." I chuckled,
"I'll Facetime you later, kay?" she promised,
"Sure, sure. Go get yourself some rest too." I nodded like she could see me,
"Bye-yaah."
I put down the phone and started moving the boxes around again,
"Tri?" I heard Dean call from one of the rooms,
"What?" I answered,
"The faucet is loose, you might want to call someone to fix that," he grinned at me sheepishly.
"Do you always have to break things?" I crossed my arms under my chest,
"Hehe, sorry.. Who were you talking to earlier?" he diverted the topic,
"Oh, that was Krisha. She's in town." I said,
"Really??" Dean sat on the couch,
"Hey, I thought you offered to help me unpack. You're just breaking stuffs and slacking off. You should just go." I groaned,
"So, are you two going to meet?" he asked, ignoring my remark,
"Yeah, tomorrow. Go home, Dean!" I groaned again,
I ignored him and continued to fix the things around the place, trying to make sure everything was where I need them to be. It was a silent few minutes of moving around until Dean spoke again.
"Hey.."
I sighed, "What now?" continuing what I was doing while listening to him.
"I'm just curious.. Aren't you going to ask me about Matt when we met up?" he initiated,
I swallowed and cautiously lifted my arms still not facing him, "Why would I?"
"Nothing, I was just curious. He asked me about you, how you were doing I mean." He said,
"What did you tell him?" I pushed,
"I told him you're doing fine and you're transferring branches." I turned to him and saw him shrug.
