The door of the abandoned home in Northern New York creaked open. Not as stealthy as he had wanted but with a house this old there was only so much he could do. The sound of heart monitors echoed through the silent house. Creeping through, he saw them. The Mutanimals. They appeared to be unharmed but they were still asleep.

Or were they?

Dr. Rockwell began to move around, opening his eyes. Raphael rushed over and placed a green finger against his lips, telling the mutant monkey to be quiet. "Are you okay?" Raph whispered.

"Just get us out of here." Rockwell pleaded. Raph nodded his head and helped the monkey up.

"Head south for seventeen miles, you'll end up at a manhole cover, slide down the Lair is your third right. Go!" Raph instructed. Rockwell nodded his head and slowly made his way out of the house.

As the other Mutanimals slowly woke up, he gave them the same instructions and sent them on their way. The last to be woken up was Slash.

"I'm not leaving you, Raphael. He will find you."

"He?" Raph asked.

"I can't leave you alone in here. It's not safe." Slash groaned.

"You're not safe if you stay. I have to make it home because my fiancé is expecting me. So when she asks, tell her I'm on my way. Whether I am or not."

"I cannot lie to Mona Lisa."

"Okay.....then tell her "Ti voglio bene"." Raph smiled. "She'll know." He finished. Slash nodded his head as Raphael walked him to the front door of the house and out the door.

"Where do you think you're going, Raphael?" A voice echoed. Slash turned around and gave his former owner a concerned look.

"I'll be fine. Go!" Raph ordered.

But Slash stayed. "I promised you I wouldn't leave your side. Partner." Slash nodded. Raphael gave a warm smile before hearing the snapping of a tree branch.

"Duck!" Raph shouted. Both turtles dropped to their knees and separated. Slash using the trees and darkness to his advantage and Raphael climbed to the rooftop to get a better view at his enemy. Who he saw made him freeze.

"Shredder?" He whispered. Then the figure vanished.

"Yes, I missed you too, Raphael." Shredder growled from behind the teenager. Raphael turned around only to be greeted by the older mans fist, hitting him so hard it knocked him off the roof of the house. Raphael grunted as he hit the ground, waiting for Slash to jump out of the woods but he was nowhere to be found.

"If you're looking for your friend, he's long gone." Shredder smiled.

"What?"

"He left." The villain smiled.

Raph sighed and looked up at the sky before noticing the large turtle in the tree. Raph pushed himself up from the ground and looked at the monster before him.

"You're sick!" Raph screamed as he ran at the man. Shredder grabbed Raphael and threw him through the doorway, slowly walking into the house after him. That's when Slash struck.
