Chapter eight
We were in the swanky room again, all ten of us, including Chris and David.
Fred and the rest of the muses looked tired. I bet just like Marshall and I, they had a pretty funny day.
Our leader rubbed his forehead and asked eagerly, "Anyone find anything?"
When the room fell silent and it felt no one was ready to answer, Clinton replied, "Yup. Another blood theft by the fallen. Missed it by a minute."
Just then, the most crazy idea popped into my head. Suddenly, I rushed to suggest, "Wait. I just thought of something. If the fallen need blood, why don't we give it to them?"
Everybody looked at me like I was one of the bad guys disguised as Edward. They didn't seem to understand where I was getting at.
Like Chris was already wriggling his fingers as if he was about to release some magic.
Until finally, someone got me.
Kella exclaimed, "And trap them from there, epic!"
Everybody immediately sighed with relief.
However, my muse who knew my intentions all along asked me, "So.... How do we get blood?"
Major problem, I thought. Maybe we could.... Kill somebody?
The cute, innocent girl with glasses that always gave me goosebumps frowned worriedly, "No one's ready to risk his life. And again, a fat amount of blood is needed to lure them."
I looked at her and thought for a while. Wearily, I lowered my head and heard myself say, "Animal blood." I didn't know when I said that.
But I received a grin from Fred, "Good job Edward. But when is this going to happen?"
You know I thought seeing and speaking with ghosts were the freakiest things that would ever happen to me. But hey! Anthony shocked me.
Somehow, he spoke sense, "On Monday. At Eddy's school. Like it's his plan."
"How would Edward take blood to school?" Jessica pitched in.
Okay and she was trying spoil Anthony's first attempt at wisdom.
I wouldn't let that happen, would I, "I wouldn't. You guys would. Bring it for me then I'd slit my arm a bit. Smear the carcass's blood all over me. Am I speaking?"
Marshall hooked his arm round my neck and rubbed my hair like a baby,"That's my Eddy."
Was that to make the rest of the muses jealous? Somehow I was proud, grinned satisfactorily like a boy taking chocolate from a stranger and listened as Fred still made strategies.
"Good job everyone. Edward's school, Monday, 11 am. Split some cow's ass and get the blood down there.... And one more thing."
Marshall stopped playing with my hair when Fred said that. I also looked up at him, "What's that?"
He folded his arms over his chest and stated seriously, "Let's plan all the way to the end.... Badly necessary."
"What plans, "Chris's host asked.
Fred lowered his gaze and smirked.
He knew we were very expectant and all he did was create suspense. How sweet. He dragged his stare to the entire clan, the ugly little smirk still on his face.

I walked out of Math class with my eyes on my watch. It was still 10:40 am. Needed to find a way to get myself injured soon, such compromise. But I suffered most.
Grabbing a snack, I sat and ate with some friends , eyes still on the school gate, checking for members of my clan. Funny how my friends and my usual apple juice and half a Weiner snack changed in a week. In your face Victor. I belong to a cult now.
Sooner than not, Jessica appeared walking into the high school surrounding. Immediately, I excused myself from the group and walked up to her.
She looked... Wow! If a guy like me was seen walking with a girl this hot through the school corridor, I was totally going to overthrone Victor.
And thank my lucky stars when she decided we walk through the corridor!! And she knew exactly what she was doing. Once she even moved closer to me and bumped my shoulder when she noticed the stares.
The back of the building was the best place for maniacs like us who were trying to lure some bloodthirsty ghosts to my school.
When we reached there, I panted and asked, "Got the blood."
She reached in for her backpack and retrieved a sack of cow's blood, "I almost cried for that cow yunno. Now it's to wait for the others."
Almost immediately, Fred appeared before us, "Hey. Am I late?"
I looked at my watch, then him, "Five minutes left. But we need the whole clan."
"Tried calling,"he asked me.
I sighed, "Let me see."
I closed my eyes and placed two fingers on my temple, trying to find the rest of us. That was possible because we somehow had linked energies. It's a muse thing. You won't understand.
Finally, I slammed my eyes open, "They're here already."
Sooner than not, again, the seven appeared with us. Now, we were ten, complete. Five muses, five clients.
Fred said again, "Very good. Blood?"
Everybody raised a sack.
Fred continued, "Those are my kids, "he gawked at us to notice our reaction to the way he always rubbed our youth in our faces. When we forced smiles any set of kids will give their parents, he continued,"I love you too. Now as we planned. Edward, I got you a knife. Good as new. Cost me a fortune though but thank me later."
I watched him get a small, sleek blade from his pocket that could cut a bone. As sharp as my reflexes.
I shrugged, "For what?"
He raised a brow and used his eyes to point at the blood sacks everyone got, "What did you say yesterday? Where do you think all this blood is going to come from?"
I glared at him, "Am I supposed to use that... THING..on myself? I said I was going to give myself a slit not kill myself!! Yikes... Jeesh!"
Fred sighed softly, "I promise to heal you immediately the job's done."
I looked away, unwilling to partake in that form of madness.
My muse buried his head in his hands and faked cries, "I can't believe the host of the fierce muse is acting like a lady."
I huffed snatched the knife, slipping it into my jacket pocket.... Just to prove him wrong."
Fred seemed happy and immediately rushed his words like when a girl who has a crush on a guy has the chance to speak to him for the first time, "Uhmm, My name is... I don't believe this... It's you. I just like you..."
Just kidding. Those were not his words. My imagination is crazy. His real words rather were, "Now. Think of a good place to get wounded. Good! School's loo. Mirrors are sharp."
But I swear they did have the same reactions. Who was nonchalant now?
I snapped out of my world of thoughts and prayed Marshall didn't get a glimpse of them. He chuckled softly. He did get a glimpse of them.
I ignored him and contributed, "Let me go and see if anyone's there. If not, I'd send a signal. Y'all can come then."
Just then, I began running to the school's bathroom. A group of males were there. Patiently, I waited as they made it out. I walked up to the door and opened it a bit to see if anyone else had a leaking bladder to empty. The coast was clear.
Using the same way I connected to them the last time, I placed my fingers on my temple. Moments later, they appeared to me.
Fred gave another command, "Now empty the contents of each sack onto the floor."
They seemed happy to do it. Obediently and playfully, the eight smeared a certain amount of their cow blood, that quantity that seemed probable to escape from a human with a slit arm.
Immediately they were done, Philip just had to make his way into the bathroom. Major problem!
He stood agape and stared at the five weirdos he could see pouring red liquid on the Loo's floor.
That was the end!
