Chapter thirty
Just then, I noticed a similarly enormous ball of light come from outside the circle. It shot at the one above me, destroying it consequently. Did my whole team make that for me in just a short time.
The fallen and I turned to see who it was. And guess what. It wasn't my whole clan. It was Angela in max. Given the type of muse she had, it wasn't surprising she was the first to reach this level. I could see it in her eyes, giving her the ability to make a blast so big on her own.
I finally had a side kick. Her own pair of wings were a dusty shade of white, beautiful.
It was then I smiled and teleported to her, "Here to help your sweetheart?" That kiss I couldn't plant on her before, I did it now, placed my hands on her lower waist and gave her mouth a gentle brush with mine, "Thank you."
"Couldn't stand seeing eaten up like that," she said with her eyes searching mine.
To be honest, I just realized Clara wasn't all such a bad person. I was exaggerating her annoyance just an itsy bitsy bit. And similarly, if I was asked why I loved Angela, my first reason would be that she loved me too. And cared, something I didn't really get until I joined the muse gang.
I took her hair away from her face, staring sweetly at her, "What do you say we kick some ghost butt."
She snickered in response, "After you."
Harold led the others in Amaya's absence, standing in front while they all glared at Angela and I play on as if we didn't acknowledge their presence. Which was actually very true somehow.
With a squeeze of his brows, he placed out his hand as if he wanted something to land on it.
And I knew that move, he was about to create something. With a puff of some muse dusts, a missile launcher formed on his right palm.
Before he shot, Alfred stammered a few words to him that I heard slightly, "Don't just kill my brother okay?" Wow... So he cares. Well this world was full of surprises.
My girlfriend and I stood side by side, staring at Harold who snorted at my brother's remark and released a shot from the launcher at us, "Eat fire birdies."
Angela and I tilted our bodies to either side, leaving a reasonable gap between us. The missile passed through it and exploded some distance behind us. Then we faced Harold with a deadly glare.
Wrapping myself with my wings, I approached Harold, incase he any other missile from that weapon of his. The sensitive muse seemed a bit confused and watched me patiently, waiting for me to be vulnerable before he shot.
But right before I reached him, I opened up my wings, flapping them once to give me the last push to my enemy. Afterwards, I kicked the weapon outta his grip.
M
Raising a fist to punch him, I noticed Angela fly over me and pounce on Evelyn who she began dealing with.
Justin came over to join the sensitive muse in the fight against me when I figured someone else obstruct him.
Okay that made it three of us in max as David smiled at me and joined the game, giving Justin a deadly punch to the nose.
His own wings were a sweet caramel brown. Why did it have to be me given the most lifeless and darkest color. Not as if I didn't like it. Shish.
Giving the strong muse one little lift in the air, David threw him up and flapped his wings at him. The force of that released air waves as strong as a tornado which pushed Justin high high up into the sky that we literally lost sight of him.
Then he faced us and closed his eyes in anger, "I guess mine was determination and anger. I just couldn't stand the urge of not breaking bones in a long time. Being evil is addictive mehn. And maybe cos you two sluts were kissing on the battlefield."
Wow, that was a unique form of max he achieved there, wasn't it, "Really turned out handy." I said and kicked Harold away from me.
I had never seen a lady's fight without pulling of hair. But as always, my baby was full of surprises. She wasn't pulling the hair this time. But oh she was still pulling something alright. Evelyn's nose.....
No comments about that.
But was it just me or the fallen hosts were a bit useless in this fight unless their muses wanted to possess them. I guess deep down somewhere they did not want their ghosts to make that wish and go away. Literally everyone was against them. And consequently, it was going to be easier to bring them down. First stop, finding the idol.
"I'm more than sure you two can take it from here, "I said to Angela and David, "I need to find Amaya. She's got the idol."
A deep part of me made me turn around and would you speak of the devil. I found the brave one running on a pile of broken walls to get to the top. At that, I began running to start flight. And as I would have it... I was blocked by good old fashioned men in tuxedos. Yunno I was getting tired of people who did nothing to me but just waste my time. And that wasn't what I needed at a crucial time like this.
With my mind made up, I didn't stop running even with them in my way.
However, whenever I reached one, I swirled around him and knocked him off with my wings, then keep on running like I just didn't do that. But there came a time I had to stop. This particular bodyguard was not in a suit nor did he hold up any weapon or fist to me. He held an adder snake, intending to put it's venom in my veins. I looked at him up and down, dressed in some kinda monk robe from ancient Italy.
Just to make things clear, I did not stop due to fear. It was surprise.
My gaze went from the man, then to the snake that kept hissing and arching its body at me, then to the man again. I was just.... Dumbfounded.
When I was out of my state of shock, I raised a leg and kicked the man backwards that he staggered and almost fell. Okay this guy had no strength on his own. Just the green crawly beast around his arm that somehow did look scary. Not to me of course.
Angrily, the monk guy came at me with a scream and the adder snake up. I teleported to behind him and kicked his back, making him stagger once more. Like he really thought he could stop me with a snake. When he turned to me with a roll of his neck, I saw determination in his eyes which was sadly going to take him nowhere. I bent my fingers, arching my knuckles.
Looking at his neck, ribs and waist, I remembered the major pressure points I knew in the body which were very vital for one's consciousness. I learned that from a Chinese book stacked in my dad's library. Marshall was right then, we humans did have crazy ideas. Afterwards,I took my bent fingers forward and punched him right on those points as quickly as possible.
Then I stood and watched his reaction to that.
He paused in his tracks and dropped down in some kinda sleep mode that was going to take him a fat amount of time to come out of.
The show was over. I turned away to keep on finding Amaya.
There was still a hiss sound though from behind me. That adder was still alive. I faced it, watching it crawl slowly at me with a hiss. A smile escaped my lips.
Forming a fist, I aimed down at it, "Try picking on someone your own size." I then opened my hands and shot out our usual blue light which could turn mortals into ashes.
It didn't take much of it to roast the cute little adder. So that was over.
Turning back to the pile of broken walls where Amaya had used, I flew the rest of the distance to save time and avoid more "men in tuxedos".
I turned back to the field to find a whole war going on. With Kuma away, nothing was there to stop my crew. And they just went on beating the hell of out the villain ghosts. But something else was happening. Alfred was at my tails, running to where Amaya and I stood for some reason I didn't know of. Well, I faced my front again with a dirty smirk. Well I was looking for this beat down as well. My muse's sister in my brother, and one big, deadly fight. The time had come.
I flew down the pile of stones and landed with a bump on the floor. The sound made her turn and face me in worry. Looking up, I found Kuma still floating like some kinda balloon above his broken idol, then returned my gaze to Amaya.
"Hello sister, "Marshall in me rasped, "why don't you show me that bravery, that strength. Right here, right now."
Alfred had reached us now, receiving a welcome smile from me.
He had an undefined look on his face while he stalked to Amaya.
The brave one sighed painfully and studied me, then the idol. It was then she realized I was never going to stop. Well unless she somehow, unexpectedly, impossibly stop me. And she somehow came to that conclusion now.
She took her right hand to her left wrist and began taking the jewelry on them off, "I don't have a choice, do I?"
She began strolling to and fro, an explanatory pose on her body, "You know I always loathed you from the start. You know after all I did, Mama still loved you. Too bad that I get her a car, she picks your bike over it. What exactly did you do to that woman?"
I joined my hands, shrugging proudly with a wide grin, "Let's just say I didn't spend my time trying to destroy my only sibling. Something I actually realise is essential at the moment. Why don't we end this Amaya Godwin."
Then the dramatic ending, my red eyes deepened into the beautiful shade of blood.
