Ranboo woke up surrounded in the most comfortable warmth he had ever felt. Something about the smell and feel of pressure around him made him so extremely relaxed that it nearly gave him a heart attack when he realized what was going on.
He looked up and came face to face with Tubbo, who was still asleep. His jaw, perfectly poised just so his lips were resting on his face, slightly parted but perfectly centered. Ranboo's eyes flicked up to Tubbo's, which were still closed as he breathed softly. His eyes trailed back down and he swallowed hard. Something about how impossible close they were, how the small arms were wrapped around his neck- how his lips were so close to his as their chests pressed together...
All air seemed to stop traveling to his lungs as he noticed a small eyelash on the corner of the brit's mouth- just enough on his upper lip to remove. Just right there, nothing weird about noticing it, so probably not that weird to get it off-
Ranboo put a single thumb up, finding that his hands were snaked around his friend's back. He took the thumb and brushed it against Tubbo's lips, pressing lightly against them and getting the eyelash off. They were astonishingly soft, something he didn't really expect but couldn't believe he hadn't noticed.
As if in a trance, he took the same thumb and brushed it against his own lips, finding less of the softness. It didn't matter to him, although he knew it, that he had used the same thumb. In fact, it seemed more like his intention, deep down.
He took a deep, shaky breath, unable to comprehend the deep swirling burning in his chest and stomach, and put his head back down. He couldn't help but burn with the tinge of pink that rose up his neck and face as the other snuggled closer in his slumber- Ranboo was in trouble.
But that could wait for the morning.

He knew better. He did. But that didn't change anything as he watched Ranboo drive, a look of slight relaxation on his face.
The trip had been eventful enough, and now that it had come to a close- Tubbo was watching the taller drive once again. Jack and Tommy were getting ready to exit the car as they neared Jack's house, soon to leave the two of them alone.
It was a quick, loving goodbye, and when they were on the road again, something was different. It was only Ranboo there with him, and the same mesmerizing feeling came over him- except this time, something was different. There was something about the way his hair brushed carefully against his forehead as wind flushed softly through the slightly open window or how he blinked slowly, just enough for his eyes to glaze over for a moment before returning to their normal grey.
Tubbo couldn't honestly understand what was going on, but there was something about the way that he was acting. Ranboo had been acting weird for a while, and extremely clingy without there being any reason.
When they arrived at home, Tubbo went inside first and sank down on the couch, the two opting to unpack later. Ranboo ran in and leapt over the back of the couch, plopping down beside him right as his phone began to ring.

It was a simple plan. About a week after they got back from the camping trip, Tommy set up a meetup with his friend Eryn, who was going to bring a plus one. Tubbo was busy shopping for new jeans, having left Ranboo home alone.
Something was off as he returned home, though. He opened the door and stepped up to the mat, wiping his shoes clean of the damp grass from the yard. He made a mental note to clean them later.
Tubbo took off his jacket and strolled inside, glancing around the room for Ranboo, but to no avail. He was about to call out when he was sure he heard something, so he went silent, standing still. It was music- and there wasn't much to it, just a simple tune. The beginning of a song.
He walked towards the door that led to the kitchen, where the noise seemed to be coming from. He was about to grab the handle when he heard something he didn't expect. Singing. Ranboo singing.
I can't help but to care about the way you touch me, when we're alone
You can hold my hand when noone's home
Do you like it when I'm away?
If I went and hurt my body, baby would you love me the same?
Tubbo was completely entranced. He had heard Ranboo sing before, but he wasn't trying. The voice he was hearing now was definitely that of his friend's, but the sound was entirely different. He was getting chills- and he knew this song.
I can feel all my bones coming back and I'm craving motion
Wish I would've learned to live my myself
It's like a curse
Man it's growing
It was different than the version he knew, almost like he was making it up as he went along- but he was singing it so fluently, with such certainty. He had definitely done this more than once- and for some reason, Tubbo couldn't step away from the door.
You're a pond and I'm an ocean
He wasn't expecting what came next. The power behind his friend's voice, it felt so real. If felt like Ranboo was living the song as he shouted it, but with what seemed like perfect tone.
All, my emotions, they feel like explosions now that you're around
And I've found, a way to kill the sounds
Oh baby I am a wreck, when I'm without you
I need you here to stay
Broke all my bones that day I found you
Playing that same game
As much as Tubbo would love to sit there and listen to Ranboo, which he dearly wanted to do, he felt guilty for it. Ranboo hadn't sung like this around him for a reason, meaning he probably wasn't comfortable doing it, which meant he had no right sitting here and listening to it.
Was it something I said to make you think I'm just your friend
Oh and if I could take it all back
Tubbo had walked back over to the big door, so he could barely hear the next line as he gently opened it.
I swear that I would try to make you mine
"BOO! I'M HOME!" Tubbo shouted and slammed the door back shut. The music cut immediately and Tubbo waited several seconds to give him time to collect himself before he called out again. "Boo? Where are you?"
"Hey," Ranboo opened the kitchen door, leaning against the frame. "Sorry, had headphones in. How was the store?"
"It was great. What have you been doing?" Tubbo put his bag down on the couch.
"Finished stream and just worked, I guess." Ranboo said, shrugging. It was all Tubbo had in him to keep a smile off of his face at the slight redness in the taller's cheeks. There was no reason for him to be embarrassed. His voice was phenomenal, but Tubbo wasn't going to embarrass him more.
"Wanna get something to eat?" Ranboo smiled at him.
"Sure."
They ordered chinese and sat on the back deck as the sun began to set. Ranboo, who had been speaking normally the entire time, suddenly turned to look at him.
"Did you get some good new jeans?"
"Yeah."
"Show me." Ranboo sat back on his arms. Tubbo raised his eyebrows.
"Pardon me?"
"Go in there and put some of the new jeans on and let me see what they look like. Nothing better to do while we wait."
"You better not make fun of me."
"Swear I won't."
"Okay."
