"Boo, can you come here?"
"Yeah, one second." Ranboo quickly straightened his shirt, taking the towel off the counter and stepped out of the bathroom, drying his hair as he walked.
"How do you enlarge the text box on this? It won't let me." Tubbo said, pointing at the PC screen he was using. Ranboo stepped around the side to look.
"Unlock the layer. You can't edit a locked layer."
"I did that."
"Did you hit apply changes?"
"There it is. Thanks." Tubbo went back to working. Ranboo, chuckling, walked over to the couch, sitting down and leaning over, opening his bag, which was set next to the wall. He dug out his brush and attacked his hair a little bit, trying to get it to lay even remotely flat.
"When are you going to cut it?" Tubbo was watching him.
"When we hit the subgoal." Ranboo muttered. "You were on that stream, I said you could cut it when we hit the goal."
"If we don't hit it, I'm lowering it. I want to cut your hair."
"I want to still have hair left, so I might raise the goal." Ranboo joked. Tubbo scoffed.
"Come on, I know it gets in the way."
"Oh, so you don't like it then."
"I didn't say that." Tubbo said as he spun the chair back around to look at the screens again.
"Sounded like it."
"I quite like your hair, actually. It's all soft and fluffy when it's dry, and nice and long when it's wet, but I know it's more than difficult for you to deal with it all the time."
"Yeah, but it's funny when I can't deal with it." Ranboo said, leaning back into the couch. He reached for his phone before remembering the unfortunate fate it had suffered.
"Here." He looked up to see Tubbo toss his phone. He caught it.
"Thanks. Mine should be here tomorrow."
"No worries."
* * * * *
"Boo!"
"Yeah?" Ranboo looked up.
"I sent you a link on Discord. Can you go check it out?"
"What is it?" Ranboo was already halfway to the chair, sitting at his own PC.
"It's a soulmates quiz, I want to take it together and see what we get. It's connected, supposed to tell you how in love with the other you are." Tubbo was grinning too widely to say no. With an exasperated sigh, Ranboo clicked on.
The test looked like a normal buzzfeed one, but more sophisticated. Ranboo clicked on his answers as soon as he thought of them, subconsciously wanting it to be as accurate as possible. They had both put their names in and Ranboo found his questions littered with the brit's name.
Things like dream dates, best moments, love languages- fifty questions of silent frustration. It took them well over an hour, neither speaking. Ranboo was slowly losing his mind, reading through the questions that felt as if it was way too personal.
Do you think soulmates are real? Yes.
Do you find people attractive for looks or interests? Interests.
Where in the world do you want to meet your soulmate? Anywhere.
Do you think you've spoken to your soulmate before? Not sure.
How happy are you when you're around [Toby]? Extremely.
Does [Toby] seem happy around you? Most of the time.
Is [Toby] one of the most important people in your life? Yes.
Are you currently in a relationship with someone? No.
Are you actively looking for romance? Not really.
White or black wedding? Either.
Suit or dress? Suit.
On a scale of 1-10, how well does [Toby] know you? 9.
On a scale of 1-10, how well does everyone else in your life know you? 6.
Could you see yourself living with [Toby]? Already do.
The test began to load. He sat back, finally waiting for his response. Tubbo laughed with a shallow, "I'm done.", and leaned back in his chair. Ranboo stared at the screen for what felt like a hundred years but was really two minutes.
When the screen finally popped up, it took him a moment to process the number in front of him, big and bright on the screen.
94%
"What did you get?" Tubbo asked. Ranboo, going slightly pink for no apparent reason, stood up and shrugged. He was not going to embarrass himself.
"Thirty percent." Tubbo cocked his head to the side and looked back at his screen as it flashed. Ranboo didn't pay attention and turned off his own computer, hiding his evidence.
------------
Tubbo stared at the screen well after Ranboo had sat down. The number on the screen was big in front of him, and he couldn't exactly understand why it stunned him.
89%
What was even worse, though, as host, he could see Ranboo's score. It was not thirty. Ranboo had lied to him, and for some reason such higher numbers made his heart race.
"Dumb quiz, probably fake." Tubbo turned off his PC. "Wanna watch the office?"
He couldn't tell who's look of relief was hidden worse- his or Ranboo's.
