Interrupted

You walked into the room, Tank on the screens, Morpheus looking at something with Trinity, and Neo sitting silently at the table. He was eating that grey shit we have to eat every day. He looked up at you and smiled, making butterflies flutter in your stomach. You smiled and walked over. Yawning, you pushed your legs into the table. You scratched your head and looked at him.

He chuckled at your tiredness. "How was your sleep?" he asked with a flashy smile. You grinned and side-eyed him, remembering the night you two had before you two were interrupted by Morpheus. "Oh you know, it could've been better." He shook his head smiling, "I could say the same," rubbing the back of his neck and chuckling nervously.

Morpheus walked over to the table, "Good morning Neo, and good morning y/n I didn't see you get up." You cleared your throat and rubbed your forehead. "Yeah well, I kinda had a rough night," you said before taking a bite of goop.

After Neo followed you to your room after yesterday's training, he couldn't help but tell you how he felt about you. And when you expressed the same feelings things got steamy. You two were so close until Morpheus banged on your door, causing you and Neo to tumble from your bed to the floor. After Neo snuck back to his room and everyone was asleep, you couldn't stop thinking about Neo and the way he touched you, you couldn't sleep at all last night.

"I see. Anyways, Neo, the Oracle needs to see you-," Morpheus's words cut off when he looked over at Neo, now seeing the hickeys on his neck. Morpheus leaned his hand down and touched the red bruises. Your cheeks got hot and your palms started sweating. Busted, you thought.

Neo looked over at you and then back at Morpheus, whose face was just as worrisome as Neos. "Uh, I scuffed him up pretty good at training yesterday didn't I boss," you asked with a confident yet shaky tone in your voice.

Morpheus and Neo looked over at you, Neo in confusion and Morpheus in respite. "I guess so," Morpheus replied. Morpheus stood back up and cleared his throat. "We'll all be entering the matrix later today, so be prepared." You and Neo nodded and Morpheus walked away.

"Scuffed me up pretty good huh?" Neo mocked. You laughed and swirled your spoon around in your bowl. "Did you have any better excuses?"

Neo shook his head, "Just know I wouldn't have lied, you know how we train I kick your ass every time."

You rolled your eyes sarcastically, "Not EVERY time," you spit, "I'll kick your ass today, easy." Neo's smile became larger.

"We'll see about that."
