I wrote this in the moment, so it might not be the best.

Listen, can you hear?

The sound of ocean waves,
As they crash against the shore;
And whatever was written in the sand,
Is there no more.

Listen, can you hear?

The sound of a loving mother,
Singing a little lullaby;
To her noisy little infant,
As she bids the child goodbye.

Listen, can you hear?

The sound of a wolfs howling over there,
Some have been shot by the hunting kind;
And now lay on their deathbeds,
But the pack stays to mourn the canines.

Listen, did you hear?

The heavy stomp of boots as the come close,
They're approaching quickly, erratically;
In a wild frantic frenzy.
Like some sort of emergency.

Listen, did you hear?

The sound of a rifle in the distance,
As the lady got ready;
The sound of a bullet shot nearby,
Fired by a gun really loudly.

Listen, did you hear?

The screams from the cottage,
That house right there;
Where a family lies,
Just like the wolves over there.

Listen, did you hear?

They've cried and wailed,
As well as prayed;
For a family member had passed,
Shot with a gun by that lass.

Listen, did you know?

You have died,
So, say goodbye.
