Eight: Suspicions

"And... And is the girl that looks like Frog kissing the boy that looks like Zayne?"

Sin made sure Hera and Frog were busy the day she called the meeting. Hera said she had an important 'date' with someone. Frog was going to look around the area where the ball was going to be held.

Everyone gathered around the living room, Asmo passing around some bowls of cookies and candy. Kaz stretched out on the couch and lazily placed her legs on Bella and Dom. Sin fiddled with her shirt while she sat on a beanbag.

"So... I just wanted to make sure of something?"

Nate looked up from his phone. "Yes?"

"I can trust you right?"

It was quiet for a second before Bella stood up.

"Of course! Who do you think we are?" She almost yelled, "Who else would go to a super dangerous masquerade ball held by the mafia for you?"

"Pfft, you're only going so you can see if theres any hot people there."

"Well, yeah, partly, but I'm also doing it for Sin."

Sin smiled.

"Hey, we should have like a thing," Asmo piped up, "You know when people make blood oaths and that? We could do that but with an item, something that we all get. It's like a thing that bonds us?" 

Kai shrugged and held up one of the bowls they were eating from. "What about these cookies?"

"Yeah, that could work."

Kai passed around the bowl and made sure everyone got a cookie.

"Wait! Don't eat it yet, we should say something."

Nero slowly spat the cookie out of her mouth. "Say something? Like what?"

"I know!" Dom stood up. "I'll say some things then you all say, 'In Sin we trust' in unison."

Sin nodded, "That sounds good."

"Okay, so. We swear on our parents that we will be loyal to Sin and stick together as a family. We will not betray or turn our backs on anyone in this room. If we do, we are aware that something terrible will happen to us-"

"What?!"

"Shhh"

"-And we will never back down to anything. In Sin we trust."

Everyone solemnly held their cookie up and spoke in unison: "In Sin we trust."

Kai went to bite her cookie and everyone followed lead. Once all the cookies were gone, Sin rubbed her hands. "Anyways. What I was wanting to say isssssssssss I don't trust some people."

Bella raised her eyebrows. "Who?"

"The people that aint here today."

"That doesn't narrow it down at all," Nero frowned. "Jesus ain't here, My dad aint here, Zayne isn't here, my grandpa that fell into depression and got addicted to smoking and having unprotected sex and consequently died years before I was born ain't here."

"Shut up, you know what I mean. Frog and Hera."

Kai#2 scoffed. "I can see why you're suspicious of Frog, I can't stand her, but Hera? What has she ever done?"

"Stop, don't speak. Let me explain. Hera has always been more of Zayne's friend."

"Yes. I know that. But I still can't see what you have against her."

Sin ignored Kai#2. "And she's always been very close to him."

"Ah. I see now." Kai#2 nodded in mock understanding,  "You're jealous. You're scared that Zayne likes Hera more than he likes you. Well, there's no need to worry about that now. Your man is gone. Not coming back."
