Sharing the same stage

Finally, it was the day of the performance and fortunately as well, it was the last of day of our final exam. During the exam, the performance was actually on top of my priorities but the subject wasn't too difficult anyway. Just a simple financial management subject and I was pretty sure that I'm going to get quite a nice A for it.

After the exam was finished, I quickly rushed to the dance room just directly above the exam hall.

"Sorry for being late guys. Is everybody here already?" I asked my crew members the moment I entered the room.

I could see Anton, Darwin, Sharon, Viona as well as the rest of the members but I didn't see Andre around. Suddenly there was a force of energy bursting into the room.

"God holy ****, sorry guys. You couldn't imagine how difficult the exam was." Andre shouted as he dropped his bag on the floor and he looked very exhausted, mentally.

"It is? Well, who cares anyway. Come on guys, let's try the choreo and formation one more time before we go. Everybody on your position" Anton announced and everybody got into position. Some of the girls had just had their make up on and I could see that Viona was ready as well.

We tried the choreography one last time and finally we depart to the venue where we were going to perform. We usually perform in restaurant as part of the entertainment for wedding party. Anton took care of the CD for music and costume while Darwin and I were the one responsible for carrying the costume and make up bag. Sharon and Viona also carried a bag each for their own ballet costumes.

"Let me carry that, you should just go and join the others." I said to Viona as I offered to help her carry her bag. She was so skinny so I was afraid that the bag would be too heavy for her to carry.

"Just let me take that" suddenly Darwin grabbed the bag from her hand and rushed toward the stairs.

"Why don't you help carry mine instead?" Sharon said and she tossed her bag to me. "Come on, let's go downstairs, V"

In the end, I was the one who carried the biggest bag in the group. I would be totally exhausted even before I got on the stage.

The trip to the venue was quite close and eventually we reached our destination. As the leader, Anton went inside the backstage first to look for the MC together with Sharon and Viona. Darwin, Andre and I unloaded the bags from the car and the rest of the members quickly headed towards the backstage as well.

Once we were inside the backstage, we unpacked our stuff and got ourselves ready for our turn to perform. The girls got to use the backstage for themselves first to change to the costumes and the boys would just wait outside for our turn.

"Where will we go after the performance?" Andre asked Anton.

"I dunno, dinner at the closest hawker center if possible. It's going to be quite late later after our turn." Anton answered.

"Who will be coming with us? Will Sharon and Viona join us as well?" Darwin asked.

"Yeah of course, I will be the one taking them home so they have no choice but to join us. How 'bout you, Ryan? Coming?" Anton asked me.

"Nah, you know I can't hang out too late. Once done here, I'm going home. You guys just go on without me."

The girls finally finished using the backstage and it was the boys' turn. We changed quickly and all of us just linger around, waiting while warming ourselves up.

"Nervous?" Andre asked Viona while she was stretching.

"Not really. I've done this before." 

"Sweet, finally we can share a stage with such an amazing ballerina~" He continued goofing around and Viona replied him with a smile. This was actually the first time I saw her smile. She used to be very... grumpy looking during practice.

"Alright guys, our turn is up. Let's do this." Anton called us and we headed onto the stage and got into our formation as planned. 

The performance was such a roller coaster of thrill. Everybody performed very well as expected. Sharon and Viona looked very graceful as they showcased their ballerina moves. The rest of the members were also on fire and very explosive as well as expressive. I did my part as well and that night, we couldn't wish for a better performance. The applauses were loud and we were very proud of ourselves. Our practice paid off really well this time.

After the performance, we headed straight back to the backstage and as usual the girls got to change first and once everybody finished changing, some went home directly by themselves while others still gathered around.

"Alright, that's a wrap & nice job for today. Let's head back to the campus & from there, whoever wanna go for a dinner can join me." Anton said as all of us got into the car and header back to the campus. 

Once we reached the campus, I went straight to my bike.

"See you guys in the next practice." as I left the parking garage and headed home.
