The Three Musketeers

Time went on and all of us grew closer as we kept on practicing and performing together. Viona was also getting more open to us and although she was not the official member of our dance club yet, she performed constantly with us.

Beginning of 2012, holiday season and we were quite busy during New Year as well because of the numerous events that we had to fill but with the perfect number of members it was not really a big problem. What's coming next, that might be a bit of a tad.

"Oh boy, it's coming... it's really coming, guys!!" Andre said excitedly as if a huge idol was coming to our campus.

"What's coming? New members?" I asked him.

"Viona's birthday, dude!!! In 15 days, man!!! What should I get her?!" 

"Someone's going to be real busy, huh? Just get her a doll or a necklace or something like that. Girls her age dig that"

"Hmm... You're coming with me to shop, right now!!" As Andre dragged me out of the dance room. Yeah, we spent our holiday mostly here even if there was no urgent performance coming soon. I hopped into his car and we left to the nearest shopping mall.

While on the way there, my phone rang. It was Darwin calling.

"Hey bro, where the heck are you guys? The room is empty." 

"We're heading to the mall, Sun. Andre here is trying to get a birthday present for Viona."

"Nice, I'll be heading there now. Let's meet up at the front entrance near the Starbucks."

"Ok, see you there." and I hung up the phone. "Darwin's joining us, let's wait in Starbuck once we arrive."

In less than 10 minutes, we finally arrived at the mall. Both Andre and I headed to Starbucks and after another 6 minutes, Darwin arrived as well. We started our mission to get Viona's birthday present.

"Okay, I'm going to need more than one thing here. I have several options; t-shirt, necklace, doll, ring and bag. What do you guys think?" Andre asked as we walked around the mall looking at different stores.

"I'll just get one, I think. Probably a doll or what." I said.

"Hmm, I'll just whatever I can find. So where to now?" Darwin asked Andre. Andre was quite overwhelmed since there were so many stores around but we saw a cool clothing store just around the corner called... Cool Teens. We entered the store and browsed their available t-shirts.

"So which one... Damn, there are so many to choose from..." Andre complained.

"Wait a sec. You sure she can wear t-shirt with this size. Even the smallest size I think is too big for her." I said to Andre.

"Yeah, you know that Viona's quite... very... slim." Darwin added.

"So what should we do?" Andre asked.

I looked outside the store and realized that there was another version of the store we were in and it's called... Cool kidz.

"Well, we can always check the kids section there." I recommended.

"Wha... Kid's size?! That's just... an awesome idea~ We can get the biggest size available. That'll surely fit her." Andre was excited because he had completed one of his mission.

"Very brilliant. I think I'm going to get one as well." Darwin said and he also picked one biggest size kid's t-shirt. Both his and Andre's were different in colors but looked cool. Since both of them had obtained the t-shirts, it was my turn to get the doll.

We looked around again and we saw a small shop near the corner that specialized in selling dolls. As we were all about to enter the shop, I turned to them and stopped them.

"I think it might not be a wise idea for 3 boys to enter a doll shop. Don't you think?"

"Now that you mention it, that actually makes sense. Let's just split up and meet up later in front of Starbucks again. What do you guys think?" Darwin said.

"Good idea, I still need to find another thing to add anyway. Wanna join me, Darwin?" Andre asked.

"Sure, let's go"

Both of them left and I was alone in my mission to look for a proper doll for Viona. I didn't really know what kind of doll that she would like. I didn't even know her favorite color. So, I looked around for a while and I was also having a really hard time.

"So which one should I go for... Let's choose smaller ones and... Wait a minute... This one is good. Reasonably priced as well. Finally, my mission done" and I picked the one that looked like either a dog or a raccoon, I wasn't very sure about it but the point was, it looked cute enough to be given to a girl so I paid for the doll and went to Starbucks to wait for Andre and Darwin.

After waiting for almost 30 minutes, they finally finished. Andre bought a bracelet and Darwin was happy enough with the t-shirt that he got. Our mission was quite successful and we returned to the campus.

Days moved on and finally it was the d-day. During that time, we also had a performance in a restaurant. After finished performing, we headed straight to Viona's birthday party which was not really far away from the restaurant.

It was Viona's sweet seventeen birthday party, so it meant a lot for her. Fortunately, we were not that late and the party was still ongoing. It was very crowded with her high school friends and also most of our dance club members. We gave the presents directly to Viona and she was very happy. That was the first time Viona smiled directly at me and at that moment, I realized why Andre was so into her. She's very pretty when she smiles and there's this vibe that you can feel if you're around her. It's difficult to explain but it was very... comforting.

So, the party went on, we played ridiculous games and we were also asked to perform our signature routine to liven up the mood. It was a great party and really, a night to remember.
