1974

adhara black and sirius black were once inseparable; nobody in hogwarts knew either of them as individuals, but as a pair - unfortunately, that was no longer. barely anybody knew them as a pair anymore. the reason behind it nobody knew. sometimes, even the twins themselves forgot.

some chose to believe that it was because adhara still spoke to regulus - whereas others chose to think that something happened, like adhara had became a blood supremacist, but they all knew that it wasn't possible for adhara black to become a blood supremacist.

the girl never even got caught seen smiling anymore. she looked pale - almost ill, as if she'd seen a ghost, or someone close to her had just died. but all of the happiness was sucked out of her nearly two years earlier, when the twins fell apart.

the girl stood next to her four posted bed, packing the last of her belongings. meanwhile, across the room, the two m's, amy and lily were stood gossiping.

"are you going to say yes to potter soon?" spoke mary macdonald.

marlene gasped, "oh! i can see it right now! we'd just walk in after class and just see them snogging. and then i'd bug lily about it for weeeeeks"

amy snickered, kicking the girl in the knee lightly, while lily just shut her eyes closed tight, hoping that they'd shut up. adhara glanced over for a moment, hoping with all she had that they'd leave so she could either read a book, study and listen to music, or sit in silence.

adhara placed the last of her clothes into the trunk, and slammed the trunk closed, catching the attention of the girls across the room. she put the catch down and grabbed the book on her bedside table, before quickly walking out of the room, eyes following her every movement.

"i really wonder what happened between them," lily evans spoke, curiously, "they were best friends."

"she probably went to the dark side. she is a black after all."

"amy! don't say that!"

adhara quickly walked down the stairs, pleading for there to be an empty common room at the end of them, even though she highly doubted there would be. she wondered why everyone thought she'd gone to the dark side, then she remembered who her family was. she often wondered why her family was that way in the first place; blood supremacists, death eaters and all. there really was no explanation for that, not that she could think of anyway.

a lanky figure bumped into her, snapping her out of her thoughts, "sorry." she mumbled.

when she was who it was, she quickly rushed out of the room, hoping he'd not noticed whom it was. but, she knew that he'd noticed when she heard someone else speak, "my anti-social twin sister, ladies, gents and others."

adhara left the common room faster than you could say 'quidditch', and headed straight to the only other place she could think of - the astronomy tower.

she sat on the ledge of the building, swinging her legs back and forth. she brought her hand up to her mouth, placing two of her fingers on either side of her mouth, doing something that caused them to make a loud whistling sound. moments after she whistled, her brown owl, cocoa, came flying over to the girl. he placed a piece of parchment into her hand, as she had taught him to when she whistled. she pulled out a pen, something she'd bought from the muggle world last time she went, which worked as a quill, only you didn't have to constantly dip it into ink.

she thanked the owl, as he stood next to her waiting for the paper to be written on, before writing her letter. she finished writing the letter and reread it, it read:
