Chapter 10

Skye sat in her room on her bed, she was in the room Midas used to use, how could she defeat Jules? Jules was doing what Midas was doing. Skye sighed. Skye felt angry, she got up and threw a gold clock to the ground. Skye sighed, then it came to her. Oro, Oro could help. Maybe he didn't like Jules, he was different after all.

Skye walked out of the Authority and to her surprise she saw Icefang, They both stared at each other as they passed. What was he doing here? That didn't matter to Skye, she needed to talk to Oro again.

Once Skye got to where she found Oro last time she called out to him, "Oro! I need your help." "With what." He echoed. "I-Um...Jules is remaking the device, I want to stop her but i don't know how." Skye said talking to air. Oro stepped out of the shadows, "I know how to help you." "Really? How?" Skye asked,surprised that he said so. "No, wait." Oro said. "There's a catch?" Skye asked. "Yes." Oro drawled. Skye's heart dropped. "W-What is it?" "Bring me Jone's head." Oro said. Skye gasped. "No!" "NO?" Oro asked, his voice now sounded like millions of voices speaking in unison, he disappeared and reappeared all around her several times. Then he made mirror images of himself, they now all surrounded her. "No?" And Oro behind Skye asked. Skye whisked around to face him. "Why." An Oro to her right said, Skye again turned in his direction. "WHY!?!" The Oro to the right exclaimed, ever Oro echoed after him one by one. "He-he's my friend! I look up to him!" Skye exclaimed, stepping back. "HE LIES." Three Oro's said in unison. "HE PRETENDS." Three more said. "No!" Skye exclaimed. "HE PRETENDS TO BE YOU FRIEND..." "THEN HE DESTROYS YOUR LIFE." All the Oro's said "Life" in unison. Skye stepped back farther, The Oro's parted to make way for her. "Y-your dangerous!" Skye exclaimed. "HE LIES HE LIES, YOU WILL DIE YOU WILL DIE, CHILD CHILD." The Oro's chanted. Skye stepped backwards. "HE LIES..." "NO!" Skye exclaimed covering her ears. "YOU WILL DIE..." Skye shook her head. "No! i don't want to...." "I am death." Oro said, turning back into one. Skye stepped back again, her heart skiped a beat when her foot did not reach solid ground, she was falling. Oro laughed above her, "Now you are death!" The world grew bright.

Skye opened her eyes, it was very bright, She saw a man with brown hair and a beard, "Am I in heaven?" Skye asked. "No, the alps." The man said. "Wait, on Earth?" Skye asked, getting up on her elbows. "Um, yes." The man said. "Oh no." Skye said falling back to the ground. "Well, I am gonna leave ya now." The man said, dashing away. Skye lay there for a few minutes, a large amount of anxiety seemed to be building up on her, she had escaped this nightmare before, now she was back. How could she get back home? Skye felt tears welling up, they burned, She took off her helmet so it was easier to breathe. Skye heard crunching snow beside her, "Skye?" Someone asked. Skye looked up, it was Annie. Skye sat up quickly, "ANNIE?!" Skye exclaimed. "SKYE?!?!" Annie exclaimed. "What are you doing here?!?" "What are YOU doing here?" Skye asked. "On vacation." Annie answered. "How did you get here?" "I...I don't really know, there was a bright light and then I fell and I opened my eyes and I was here." Skye said, rubbing her head. "Well I'm glad you're here of all places!" Annie exclaimed. Annie's red hair lay scattered all over her shoulders beneath her snow hat. "I need to get back, now." Skye said. "You don't want to hang out a little?" Annie asked, looking deeply offended. "Oh, um..." Skye said, feeling embarrassed now. "No, I'm just kidding." Annie said smiling. "I understand if you need to go." "Well, It's just that-Midas is going to do something and I...I need to stop him-You're not mad are you?" Skye asked. "No, I'm not. Skye, maybe Midas is right. Do you really know the full story?" Annie suggested, this suggestion of the truth fell upon Skye deafly. "No! Midas is not right!" Skye exclaimed. "Ok." Annie said shrugging. "How do I get back?" Skye asked. "I think I know how." Annie said. "Remember when Agent Jones got us home? One of the rift crystals fell into my bag. I think it can get you home." Skye's eyes widened, "No way." Annie nodded, she pulled out the beautiful crystal out of her pocket. "And you just have it there?" Skye asked. "I was hoping maybe I could see you again sometime." Annie said, "I considered it my good luck token." Annie said smiling. The girls shared a hug and Annie threw the crystal on the ground, It exploded into a beautiful rift. Skye remembered when she was sucked into a rift so long ago. "Goodbye my friend." Skye said. "Goodbye Skye." Annie said.

Skye walked through the rift and appeared at the Authority, why here of all places? Skye walked towards the Authority and then realized-she forgot her helmet-Skye turned around to go back for it only to see that the rift had closed Skye panicked, what now? "Hey!" A henchman shouted at her. "What?" She asked. "I need your help with something." The henchman said. "What?" Skye asked, coming closer. "Follow me please." He said. Skye followed him down the stairs to get under the Authority. The henchman walked into a room, there was another henchman in the room, the one with the minnigun. "Told ya." The Minnigun henchman said. "I already knew it idiot." The other henchman said, "Go ahead." Skye looked down at the henchmans feet, his elegant step, the air as if he was all powerful-No. The bigger henchman took off his mask. "Brutus?!?" Skye exclaimed. "Hey." Brutus said. "No! I knew it! I knew it!" Skye turned around quickly, The other henchman was blocking the door now. The henchman took off his mask too, Skye knew who it was already, Midas. Midas smirked. "Hello Skye." Skye growled, "I'll kill you!" Skye pulled out her sword and swung at Midas. Something pink and furry flew out of his tie, Ollie turned into a sheild and Skye was pushed backwards. "Skye, listen to me." Midas said. His voice was so calming..."don't give in....don't give in...." Skye thought. "I didn't mean to flood the island." Midas said, coming closer. "Yes you did, you're lying." Skye said, getting up. "No, I'm not. Skye please let me explain. We don't have much time." Midas said urgently. Skye opened her mouth to speak, but whatever Ollie said made her stay quiet. "I planned to stop something called the Loop, The IO-who are with Ghost-reinforced the Loop. The Loop is an endless war, It lasts 20 minutes and once 20 minutes are over it starts over again, do you wonder how Snapshots happened? When they did not win the loop they died, causing them to rebirth and also another person like them would appear and be in the loop. Skye, you know that this whole world is a game, Your friend Icefang was in the so called "item shop" that means that he died in the loop and came back, his snapshot is probably stronger and still fighting in the loop, over and over again. Skye, some people here don't have parents and never did, that's what they thought, their memories where erasied, like you." Midas exclaimed. Skye felt a chill go through her body. "You're from Earth Skye." "How can I trust you?" Skye asked. "Why would I be lying? Jules is going to do something terible to this island if we don't hurry." Midas said. Skye considered him. "Ok." She wanted to believe him, she really did. "How do you know all this?" Skye asked. "Annie." Midas said. "Annie? how?" "She is my step sister Skye." Midas said. Brutus laughed. "Why are you laughing you big oaf?" Midas growled. "Will you help me stop her?" Midas asked Skye.
