First year of high school was way more better than the first year of middle school.
I had already made myself a close friend circle with three friends, throughout my 4 years in this school. So I had no trouble with fitting in since they all decided to stay here as well.
"Ugh do you think we're gonna have the same math teacher, this year as well," Deokhwa whined stomping his foot on the veranda floor like a four year old as the four of us navigated through the flock of students congesting the hallways.
"It's most probable, since Mr. Ahn's the best math teacher in the school." Minha replied back nonchalantly, scanning his schedule, probably trying to memorize it before the first class. Gohan had to make sure that the shorter boy did not hit anyone, since Minha didn't even bother acknowledging his surroundings.
"So what if he's the best teach in school, his personality matches that of an old horse. Grumpy and annoying," I countered back to the boy with glasses. Deokhwa and I high fived each other, which induced a laugh from Gohan, who just shook his head at our childish whining.
Minha sighed, closing his schedule and pinching the bridge of his nose, "I didn't even mean a to say that as counterback, it was just a fact-"
"Looks like someone is salty, that they were one upped by Baek Juho," Deokhwa cut him off in a mocking tone as we both snickered and high fived again.
"Later losers," I said to the Minha and Gohan dramatically, as Deokhwa and I linked each others arms and walked in front of them, to which Gohan laughed even harder to.
"Where do you think you both are going, we all have the same class dumbasses!" Minha called from behind, which made us look at each other and turn around with a sheepish smile.
We both made our way back to the two, laughing as Minha just shook his head, with a tiny smile planted on his face and Gohan just laughed being the silent friend that he was.
As we kept walking while making nonsensical conversation, my eyes wandered and landed on the familiar and handsome boy who came from the opposite direction.
It was Kim Seokwoo.
Oh yeah, you've probably been curious about what happened about that.
For some reason we just kinda grew apart from each other after the first year of middle school. It really didn't make sense since we became really close during that one year, but we just kept meeting each other less after we got into different classes and made different friends.
Friends growing apart sucks ass. But it couldn't be helped.
Now we were just acquaintances, passing small "hi's" and smiles to each other when we walked past each other every so often. And today was no less different.
He walked by with his group of friends, and as eyes our met, we smiled at each other. And that was that.
We finally got to our classroom and settled ourselves near the window seats, all of us huddled together, with me and Deokhwa behind Minha and Gohan. It was such a miracle that we ended up in the same class for the third year in a row. But I was glad that it turned out this way since I really liked them a lot and didn't want to leave them.
We bickered for a while, as the class slowly filled in little by little, and we anticipatingly monitored every one of them, exclaiming in joy when someone we liked came in and groaned in dismay at some we didn't. But then happened the most unexpected turn of events.
"Oh my God Juho, look!" Deokhwa slapped my arm vigorously with his eyes fixed on the doorway at the latest student who had entered. And mine were too, since the main attention of the scenario was none other than, Kim Seokwoo himself.
