A man stepped out of his car and walked up to a grand mansion. He knocked on the door, and moments later, someone answered.

Jacob

Jacob smirked. "Caroline."

Caroline pulled him inside, wrapping her arms around him in a hug before smacking him on the head.

"You bastard! You disappeared on us!" she scolded.

Jacob chuckled. "Sorry, Care Bear. I had to get away from all the drama with my brother and everything." He stepped further inside, glancing around. "So, what's going on? Where's Tyler?"

Caroline hesitated, then motioned him to come in. "Come on," she said.

Jacob frowned, noticing the look on her face. "Caroline, what's going on? Why do you look upset?" He walked up to her, concern in his voice.

"I'm fine," she replied, looking away.

"Care, I'm your friend, and I love you. What's going on?"

Caroline sighed. "I just met two girls who were hanging out with Tyler. Turns out they were staying at his house for a few days, and he never told me."

Jacob exhaled sharply. "Come on, show me."

She took his hand and led him into the living room, where voices were raised in argument.

Dean

"You think you can stand up to Klaus? Here, prove it." Dean held out a phone to Tyler.

Nina stepped forward. "Tyler, don't."

Tyler hesitated, looking at her before taking the phone. After a moment, Klaus answered.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Klaus," Tyler said.

Klaus's voice was smooth and casual. "Tyler, I hope you're not causing problems."

"I can do whatever I want. I'm not sired to you anymore."

"Fair enough," Klaus replied. "Though, I do happen to know your little secret about your time in Appalachia. What were your friends' names again? Nina and Hayley, wasn't it?" His smirk was evident, even through the phone. "You probably prefer I keep that to myself. So, mate, are you going to answer, or should I just assume you're back to being—how did you phrase it? Ah, yes—my little bitch."

Tyler clenched his jaw and abruptly hung up. "Do whatever the hell you want."

Nina scoffed. "That's it? You just back down?"

Tyler turned away but froze when he spotted Caroline and Jacob standing there.

"Jacob," Tyler said in surprise.

Jacob smirked. "Hello, Tyler."

Tyler's face lit up. "Jacob, my man! Where have you been? You disappeared on us." He pulled Jacob into a hug.

"Caroline called and said you guys were in a heap of trouble, so I came to help," Jacob explained.

Tyler smiled. "Thanks for coming."

"My pleasure," Jacob replied. His gaze flicked to Caroline. "Especially when it comes to Caroline. What she wants, she gets."

Caroline blushed.

Jacob looked around the room, scanning the unfamiliar faces. But then his eyes landed on one particular girl—and stopped.
